Missoula, MT NRA High Power Long Range, Mid Range and XTC Match Schedule

Marksmen,

We hope you can make it out to some of the matches this year in Missoula. Over the last five years, there have been some incredible scores fired and a number of NRA national records set in Missoula. The biggest change this year is that the Northern Rockies Regional Tournament has been broken into two weekends to keep the relays at 4 and shorten the day's events. We now have the F-Class portion on September 12-14th and the Prone (sling) portion September 26-28th.

The Memorial Day Ironman matches are almost a sell out each year and the September Northern Rockies Tournament has been sold out each of the last 5 years. So, be sure to register early for your spot on the firing line. Registration forms are included in the match program which can be emailed to you by contacting me at jameydan@gmail.com Montana match info and schedules can be seen at mtrpa.org

(Below is a note that was sent out to our email list regarding the 2014 high power shooting season in Missoula.)

2014 Missoula Rifle Matches at Deep Creek Rifle Range

Several of these matches sell out in advance, so be sure to register early - first come, first served. New is our Northern Rockies F-Class Tournament held two weeks prior to the Northern Rockies Long Range Prone (sling) Tournament. This addition to the Northern Rockies Tournament is in response to the large turnout and a second weekend was added to accommodate everyone. The Matches will be restricted to 4 relays of 14 shooters (56 total each day). We are also changing how prizes will be handed out at the matches. Both of these changes will make for a shorter, more efficient day at the events.

In the five years of the Northern Rockies Tournament, there have been eight national records set. There could be a total of ten records, but there were two cases where the competitors were not NRA members. While membership in the NRA is not required to compete in any of these matches, you need to be a member to set a NRA national record. Be sure to join up for this reason and many others! All matches are now either registered or a regional, making a shooter eligible to earn a national record- should their score warrant that achievement. As many know, Missoula is often a great place to shoot very well, and even in last September's tough conditions, there were still some incredible scores fired (including a national record).

Memorial Day Weekend
This weekend includes something for nearly everyone, from pistol matches and across-the-course rifle matches all the way out to 1000yd matches. We have also included a mid range team match at 500yds that is ripe for some team records. Be sure to be a NRA member and form up an eligible team! If you have any questions about teams, be sure to email us.
