The cards I turned in to the wrong person were both F- Open so you cant blame James for that. Mine was a 591-30X. Kim and Ronnie really nailed it in those conditions in F Open. Congrats to them both.

I don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

Guys, attached are the scores from the 3 x 1000 on Sunday the 28th. As forecasted it was raining in the morning , so we had a weather delay and started just after 10:00. Weather was overcast and drizzling at times. But we managed to get in a full three matches for those who wished.
Hope to see everyone in march at our first approved matches.................Tim/John MidSouth Marksmen.

Great shooting Jeff. Care to tell us about the rifle you used at this event? Thanks.
Not at all I shoot a 284 shehane 180 berger hybrid Bat M action bedded in a Shirley lowrider and 32in Bartlien 9 twist with a special tune by Dwayne Draggoo

Hey Guys,
I'm a smallbore prone shooter by trade. Recently got caught up in the 6.5 Creedmoor fever so I own a Savage Model 10 fitted to the MDT chassis. I put an Anschutz rail on it so my sling and fore hand stop would work. It's topped with a 24X Leupold target dot scope. The other day at Stategic Edge I was shooting 600 yards prone beside Sokolowski (we work at the same place). I was pretty consistent on the 2 MOA steel plates. I asked him if I would be humiliated if I came out and shot mid-range. He said "You need to come out Saturday to Tullahoma" for this match. I didn't, obviously, because I had a Jr team shooting a USA Shooting match at MBA.
So here's my question. What category would I be shooting in using a sling and a scope?

Regards,
Mike

Your smallbore experience will serve you well in this sport and you will do well. Not to worry. Do I remember that you were a junior shooting smallbore in the Chattanooga area in about the year 2000? If so you may remember my son Stacy Kunz who was promoting smallbore prone with the TNSSA at the time. Clyde Kunz

Hello Clyde,
Not a junior in 2000. I was a junior in 1972 in the eighth grade. I used to shoot in the Youth Incorporated leagues in Nashville and I been shooting smallbore ever since. I used to come down to Tullahoma when Jerry Roberts was running matches with Mr. Wright. Bill Tudor was shooting with us and another fellow from McMinnville. Tom Kelly and I were doing a lot of shooting together back then. I remember Stacy well and still have a TNSSA sticker that resembles a Jack Daniels label. I'm slated to become the smallbore director when Tom Byrnes term expires, unless someone else steps up. We could use a CMP director too. I'm retiring from Nissan in June so I plan to have more time to devote to the shooting sports.
In regards to that 6.5 Creedmoor, off the bench I was striking the 1 MOA plates at 1000 yards the other day for the first time. That is with my hand loads. So who knows? I might not be competitive, but it will be fun. I would only ask you all to bare with me as I learn to be an efficient pit operator. I've watched the long range matches at Oak Ridge and Tullahoma but I've never stepped foot in the pits.

Don't let this Mike Carter fellow fool you guys with his Columbo routine! He is a top shelf smallbore shooter. He won't have any problem adjusting to HP prone. We just need him to toss that 6.5 whatever-it-is and that scope and replace them with irons and a Palma barrel. Welcome to the asylum, Mike.

You are kidding? Right?

Mike, When mid-range and long-range matches are held at AEDC (and Henry County), the sling shooters shoot on two Silver Mountain electronic target systems graciously donated by fellow sling shooter Bill Hocker. Efforts are underway to fund additional electronic targets for other firing positions. No joke...

Matt,
I've got a spare Right Sight and an Anschutz rear sight. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to attach it to the factory barrel and the rear sight to a picatinny rail. Howard and I are working on it.
