2016 MidSouth Marksmen MR/LR Matches (AEDC - Tullahoma, TN)

We had 23 shooters come out and enjoy this year’s Dean Herron memorial match. Was a great
Day and the weather was clear and winds were mild but readable. Attached please find the complete results.
Want to give special thanks to Mr John Huskey (Pit Boss) and Mr Winfield Stacey (Highland Rim RSO). Without these individuals and their hard work, our matches would not be possible.
Last but certainly not least. Congratulations to our FY 16 Memorial winners, Thomas Colyer and Tommy Luttrell. Next year we will be adding another award to this event, the wood and steel trophy. So dig out those M1 garlands, M-14’s and get on the line and earn that trophy.
Hope to see you next month at Oak Ridge (22/23 Oct) for the 2016 Tennessee Combined Prone/
F-Class State Championship. Thanks! Tim/ John MidSouth Marksmen

I'll be there shooting my Palma rifle. With good weather, there should be a great turnout. Oak Ridge is a very nice private range.

Lets see if anyone is traveling from as far away as I am to shoot this one. (beer on me if you are)

Aren't you in Oak Ridge itself?

I'm coming from Cullman, AL for it but I'm sure there will be others travelling from way further than I am.

It was kind of a setup for a sucker bet for someone. I have moved to Lebanon, NH. I sold my house in TN earlier this yr.

This may well be my last match at ORSA for a very long time. My club membership expires the end of the month, and I'm probably not renewing it.

Russell Riser pointed out to me a few weeks ago that I am still the TN State Mid Range F-TR champ since I won it the last time the match was held in Memphis several yrs ago, so even though I'm not longer a resident and I can't actually win the State Championship again(I traded in my TN license for a NH license last month) I can show up and "defend" as it were.

So if you are coming from further away than Lebanon, NH, I owe you a beer. :D

Yes, I generally let club memberships expire after I move, but most matches are open to non-members (NRA or club), including this one.

Not only are no memberships required for this one, juniors shoot free. So load up a junior and come on out.

Wade looking forward to shooting with you again. I'll have my 223 and hope you will as well. 8 hrs for me, looks like your still good on the beer.

I am planning to shoot the 223 for most of the matches. I've got a new load with the new Berger 200-20x that looks really good that I may shoot at least once.

Thanks again to everyone that made this possible. I truly enjoyed myself. Congrats to Barry Holcomb and all the winners. Everything went smoothly and I had a great weekend. :)

Big thanks to Midsouth Marksmen for running a great match. Things went smoothly and quickly and were well organized. Nice work!

Anyone have results that can be posted yet?

I heard through the grapevine that Brad Mitchell won F-TR shooting his .223. Way to go buddy! Congrats! Gotta love those 90 VLDs!

On the sling side, word is Roake Pendleton was overall high prone. Shot irons all the way thru. Thomas Colyer was high TN resident and new State Midrange champion.

Give Tim a pass on scores for now. New season of the Walking Dead started last night. No way he was missing that... No way. He may still be traumatized. You know he's such a quiet, sensitive kind of guy.
