2015 mid range Nationals ben avery

I shot last years lr nationals at ben avery and was curious how the pit changes /yardage changes will be done at the mid range ie 3/5/6? I am driving with another shooter and wonder how 2 shooters 1 car will workout?

Ok what if you are going to the pits from 300 where you just shot how does your car get to 500 while people are at 300 ?

Matt, you can partner up with someone who is on the same relay as you, assuming your buddy is on a different one and has the car. Also, you can bring a cart and one of you uses the car and the other can use the cart to walk between yard lines. I know that is a crazy thought....walking between yard lines. ;D

So he shot REALLY well at 600 so let's see how well he can shoot at 300.

Seriously? You guys don't shoot multi-yardage matches at your ranges?

A word of advice, if you're moving cars around... you don't want to be 'that guy' who spaced out and went to the pits and left your car parked @ the 500 when everyone else moves back to 600. Inevitably, there is always one... and at big matches, there's usually at least one person who manages to lock their keys in their car... at one of the shorter yard lines. Being 'that guy' who they have to stop the whole match for, send a vehicle to the pits to pick you up and bring you back to move your car, and then take you back... is not something you want to be known for. Never done it myself... yet (knock on wood).

Most of the big ranges that have shuttle/bus service simply do the pickup for the pit change at the next yard line back - so its kinda hard to accidentally leave your vehicle up at the 300 when you had to hike back to 500 to get on the shuttle. But someone always manages...

Take your spare key, and stick it under your driver side wind shield wiper. That way, if you do forget and go to the pits and leave your car behind the 300yd line when you head to the pits, someone else can grab the car and move it back for you.

You might have some fun trying to find your rig when you get out of the pits, though

Last guy to shoot the 300 yard line moves the car back to 500 yards. Then the last guy to shoot 500 yards moves the car back to 600 yards.

Don't worry...there will be plenty of helpful folks there.

Yes I have shot many mid range matches but we drove to the pits which is alot different then hopping on the trailer and leaving your car at different yardages . At Sac Valley we have had a guy leave his truck at 300 go to the pits and his buddy caught a ride to 500 with someone. Big dodge truck sitting at 300 till it got figured out. Thought there might be a different way they do it at Ben Avery for the Nationals

Do you both shoot the same class? They will group the TR shooters on 2 relays, and open shooters on the other 2. If so you'll be going to the pits at the same time. Do either of you have a cart? You could be on the same relay, but opposite ends of the range.

I put a handle on it so I can push/pull it ....pushes so easy even with 100 lbs of equipment in it ....I purchased the box at Lowe's ....it remained me of a lapua brass box! I shoot long range f class palma matches @ 800-1000 and we have to park on the road behind 1000 yard line ...so a rig like mine becomes very handy.

Went there two years ago for the first time. Had the same questions. Don't over think it...it is so well
run, with everyone, well most, very helpful. You will do fine.
