20 Practical in the works

I have a CZ 527 American I will be putting on a pacnor super match 12 twist number 2 contour barrel in 20 practical to make a nice lightweight predator rig. Should be complete very soon. Any good load data would be very helpful thanks

Hillbilly....what grain bullets are you going to use? I'm using 40 vmax and RL10 with very good accuracy so far. I also had good results with H4198. I have heard that many powders for your .223 or .204 would work for your 20 Practical. Starting out ...just stay 10 percent below max and look for any pressure signs. My Pac-nor barrel is 11 twist though. Seems 5spd is using same two powders and 32 grain bullets with his rifle with great results also.
Ya might do a search also as there seem to be a bunch of good combo's out there for this caliber. Let us know how ya do. :)

I'm running a high mileage 12T P-N 20 PT....great cartridge....

Any powders that work in a 223 will work just as well in the 20 PT

I run H4895...mostly LC brass....40 gr moly V max...Benchmark also shines

Rem 7 1/2 primer......26/H4895 is safe in MY rifle..work up to that...I built

an 11T 20 PT awhile back for a guy.....bare 40 V's & 25/H4895 worked great

My barrel has 3500 approx rds out of it...p/dog killin' machine..........

My .20 Practical loves the 32's grainerswith 21 grains of H4198 and especially the 35 Bergers w/ 22 grains of 4198. I run a 1/11 twist and love shooting the rifle at the range and making that 400 yard stell bang. I first built a Savage model 12 bolt gun simply by switching the stock barrel for a Criterion .20 Practical. I just finished an AR15 build with another one of the Apache Gunworks barrels for the .20 Practical. So far I am still breaking it in , but it's another shooter. l love being able to see the bullet hit the target and the vapor trails.

Barrel was threaded and chambered today using a PTG 20 Practical reamer. I will be shooting Sierra blitz kings for groundhogs and Berger 35 for predators. I have several good 223 powders to try. Vita N133, h322, rl10x, just to name a few.

Midway Dogtown/Midsouth VNE 20 cal 34g makes an excellent cheap short range varmint and plinking round. Accuracy and terminal performance are good, they are a good value.

I run the 34 midtowns to 500 yrds in my 20P with ease, (no winds). Priced good, pop p-dogs like TNT . Best 400 yard target was 1.5" also out of my ar15 build.
On coyote they are a 1 shot & drop so far. BC is not that good, but its not a concern to me when they just work....at least in my 1/10", 22"bbl.
H4198 spits them at 4035fps, blc2 at 3769 fps ( my basic load) in my rig.

Try the Sierra 39's with H4198 or Accurate LT32 with Hornady 32 V-Max - both are equally accurate in my 1-12 Hart.
