"0" Group at 1000 yards

When i got into this sport a couple years ago and learned Mike Wilson's 1.068 group at 1000 yards was the record, i thought it could never be broken. After seeing 3 one inch groups yesterday at hawks Ridge and shooting a 2.589 myself with a poor mans Ruger American actioned LG/Tactical rifle I now believe the "0"group at 1000 will happen and much sooner than later.

I wont spoil Nathans fun in posting the results when they are verified but a new Tactical Gun 5 shot group WORLD RECORD was probably shot yesterday at HAWKS RIDGE gun club in Ferguson NC. Congrats to Bob, Thomas and Steve for some really great group shooting!

The zero is coming for sure. The guns can do it. Im aware of multiple groups that would have been zeros if not for a puff of wind. I cant wait to see it.

I know of a few shooters that came close and like Alex said the rifles are capable but like the old saying goes “close but no cigar “
Mike Wilson is one of the best 1K shooters and his record is still standing

Here was my failed attempt, it was not a sanctioned match so it wouldn’t have mattered anyway
four shots were around .8” iirc I know the gun can do it just gotta get a little lucky I guess

measured .3 The 5th made it 1.3 inches.

ELR Harry, tell us a little more.....What cartridge cases were used? What bullets were used. Any other interesting information like platforms etc.. Thx......

It’s hard for me to even comprehend accuracy at that level. I’m a hunter and strive for 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards but realistically most of the time I’m closer to 1 inch. Groups like that at 1000 yards??!! Y’all are at the pinnacle of shooting…well done!!
