  1. Army, Marines getting away from brass case ammo.

If it saves weight, even a small amount if it's reliable and won't gum up chambers, troops will love it and rightfully so. Humping a combat load is no joke, especially up hill. I've seen guys throw cigarette packs down on the ground trying to lighten the load on a hump, back in the day.
  2. 7mm08 and CFE 223 for 120gr Vmax

A few years ago I was working up some light loaded 120 TTSX's for my wife to shoot in a Browning MicroHunter with a 20in barrel. I thought Varget would be the ticket. It was not. CFE223 and for sure StaBall 6.5 was not around yet. IMR4350 was the powder of choice on the lighter end loads for...
  3. Everything shut down so...

Ya I know. My hunt'n buddy's don't have a problem at all letting me know it's his rifle also. They remind me every single time time that rifle is seen or talked about. "Now who's rifle is it? I just want to make sure we are all clear about who's it is" I hear that about 30 times a year.
  4. What do I build next?

    I have had 4 308's and have never been a fan. I'll take a 7mm-08 over 308 any day. If I had to have a 30 cal, I'll take a 30-06 over 308.
  5. Everything shut down so...

If they smell, they usually taste like they smell. We don't butcher those. Usually just keep the sows and gilts. I'm surprised we had a blood trail. Most of the time we don't have one. Pigs don't bleed like deer even with exits. This one was dead when we found him, we have had a few rodeos...
  6. Everything shut down so...

We would normally have Baseball, fishing, shooting, etc going right now. Mainly HS Baseball. But, with everything thing shut down, thought we could either stay at home or see if we could thump some swine. Either way we are not around people. My son Ethan shot a big nasty boar yesterday...
  7. Semper Fidelis...

Gunny Basilone and Gunny Hathcock are two of my hero's. I have been to Arlington twice and both times have stopped to pay my respects at Basilone's grave and Pappy Boyington's also. I always used Hathcock as an example and had a pic of him on the wall of my MTU's class room when I was giving...
  8. Shilen Swap Meet

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it because of Godley HS Baseball. I might be able to now with it being postponed, but as of now so is baseball.
  9. TEXAS ; Another Good Reason...

Another good reason, Gibson's in Weatherford has RL26. Swung in there on my way home from the deer lease today.
  10. 6.5cm or .308

Have both, shot both in local club matches. Creed is way easier to shoot all day in a match. And from my experience from 4 rifles of each caliber, the Creed rifles have out shot the 308 rifles. That's not just my opinion of which caliber is more accurate, it is just my personal experience.
  11. TEXAS ; Another Good Reason...

$1.90 gas, no state income tax, l can drink with a plastic straw while carrying my .45 and eating a Whataburger. God bless Texas!
  12. TEXAS ; Another Good Reason...

Beto, what a POS! When he went against Cruz, he didn't run on the gun issue as much as what he did as President. It was more on border issues. Everyone saw his true colors this go around. " Beto, fake mexican, real puto". If he ran today against Cruz, I don't think it would be even close...
  13. TEXAS ; Another Good Reason...

Texas is where I was born and raised. My wife and kids also, even though my son's just a freshman in high school, not completely done with him yet. This is where I have called home 41 of my 45 years. In 1994 I left to serve with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. I could not get back here fast...
  14. DFW/North Texas Gunsmith

You might contact Alamo Precision in Hurst, not sure if they will do a Mauser or not. Richard King is in Arlington, you might look him up also.
  15. Semper Fidelis...

First off, Semper Fi to all my fellow Devil Dogs. The WW2 Marines are my heroes. John Basilone, a Medal of Honor recipient from the battle of Guadalcanal was killed on yesterdays date in 1945 on Iwo Jima. The flag was raised on Mount Suribachi on Feb 23rd. 3 of the 6 flag raisers were killed...
  16. Best powder choices for lightweight bullet in 25-06

I had a Ruger 77 25-06 that liked IMR 4350 with the light stuff and heavier bullets also.
  17. Colt Python 2020

Well, Those of you that do own an original Python can thank god I do not. Because, if I owned one the price would fall like a rock. Due to the fact I don't own an original Python, the prices should stay up. ;)
  18. Colt Python 2020

If Colt comes to offer a Python in a HIGHLY polished DEEP blued revolver. I'm in right now! But, I'm not going to hold my breath.
  19. Hornady A-tip 6.5s and Re26 in the Creed

I run 48 grns of RL26. Its on a Model 7 20" #3 8 twist and getting 2800 FPS. Not A-tips but Partitions and Lupua Brass. Hunting load not match load. I haven't shot any match bullets with this load.
