Texas, you have asked and we are stepping up to provide a Tackdriver light match for those who want to test their equipment and skills in a Tackdriver format.

The Lone Star Tackdriver will be held on Sept 19, 2026 at the Pine Valley Shooting Range in Huntsville, Texas. This will be a one day match. We will shoot six targets; three each alternating group and score.

So here is your chance to get in on the fun in Texas and the surrounding area. Bring your F-class rifle, your PRS rifle, your score rifle, or your group rifle. Or even your prairie dog rifle. As long as they are .30 cal or less and weigh 22 lbs or less. Lets see just who has the most accurate rifle and is the best shooter. Who will end up with the title of “Lone Star Tackdriver”?

hold me a spot, and Ill send down some cash. If I don't show up for any particular
reason, That's 50 bucks more for the kitty.

That is very close to the distance I drive to the Tackdriver and I have been to every one of those shoots which as you know are a blast! Fill out the entry form and send it on in, put it on your calendar, and come on. I can't predict what will happen this time but we have had some rousing good times at this range in the past. I think I can assure you it will be a good time.

I think this may have been the first match I had or one of the first.
I built this range in a pasture on a friends family ranch.
The benches are on concrete and covered.
You will be using porta-can toilets.
No loading shed.
September will still be hot here. Come prepared.

I have to actually participate in one these matches just see how it’s ran. Would love to do something like this up here. It would have to be held at specific range it require a lot of planning but in the end you hope people would fly up to shoot. Which unfortunately it’s usually works out no one would come up. Summer time up here everything is expensive hotel rooms, rental cars, it’s one of the unfortunate things living in tourist hot spot.
