Welcome to the new HQ

If not sooner. My Son's garage is a bit bigger and made sure the ceiling
was tall enough for the lift. Pick ups with headache racks can be a problem.
He installed 6 zones of heated flooring with six ceiling fans, and will keep
the building at 45 degrees in the winter without the the Reznor kicking in.
All original 8ft lighting tubes have been replaced with the 8ft LED's. It's a
must and cut the light bill more then in half. Back of the Garage has a 11 hp
roto-phase and my machinery. His is also a licensed Pa. Inspection garage.
Yeah, enjoy the space, while it's still there......Oh, and plan your ventilation
out carefully......Enjoy.

Very nice shop Aaron, After you get done running all the air, Electrical etc in the lid, Have someone come out and drywall the ceiling of the entire shop and blow in insulation, It makes it so nice year round like that, And whatever type of climate control you use will work so much less, Set some electric reels in the ceiling and several outlets in the ceiling.
I put 22 2 gang outlets in my shop and most of them have something plugged into them.

Don't get into a hurry, Think about every last thing you would want, Put a 3 way switch in the shop so you can turn the lights on from either end, Put the lights in zones that you can run only when needed to save on power. Run your compressor/Bead blaster wiring and air, Make a small room behind the shop for them, You don't want all the bead blasting particles flying around in your shop, I know you want to do cerakote, Setup for that now. Install hose reels at convenient locations to keep from tripping on hoses and keep things neat.

Install at least 3 50 amp welder plugs and 3 or 4 more 30 amp welder plugs that can be used for way more than just welders, Lathes, Mills, Plasma cutters etc.

Install a wash tub sink, For doing the dirty stuff separate from your bathroom.

Good luck, and it was worth waiting for I'm sure.

I know there is more, I just can't think of it right now.

You read my mind. Already ordered scaffolding. Will likely use steel for the ceiling. And will probably end up installing a sub panel in the other corner of the shop. I'm lucky to have a dedicated 200 amp service right behind me where I took the photo.

Don't laugh. Cars and guns go together. My new shop got downsized for guns and will hold three cars.

This man is wise.

Our new Cushing property was a 1921 Ford dealership. Steel reinforced concrete. Cars on two floors. 7000 SQ feet per floor. We have the car elevator which still works.

Your space looks amazing. Congratulations. Good for you man.

The way you do cool stuff, with all that space, you might invent something truly unpressadented.

Amazing shop space.

I'm hoping in the next few years to be able to put up a 30x40 gambrel barn. So far, just a pipe dream.

Just had mine epoxied. Glad I spent the money. I did the diy floor a few times. Only holds up for about 2 years and I wear through it. The new floor has a 20 year warranty and looks much better. My best advice on a shop is to only buy what you need for the job you do. Its easy to buy a bunch of tools you dont need. Id rather have the very best tools I can rather than blow money on stuff that you dont really need. Square footage costs money to heat and cool. So try to be efficient with your space. New shop looks awesome. Nicer than any I have had :).

Looking good! While it is empty, paint the floor. I like gray without the color chips so I can find things that get dropped. Some good led high bay lights instead of tubes.
Definitely LED Lighting,
its such a pain how often Tube lights go out or start to flicker
especially if they are the 8 footers, then transporting them etc.
then half the time Lowes or whoever doesn't have the correct type of tubes with the same socket as your fixture
---
I've had no issues with linkable LED lights

The best advise I received when I built my shop was:

"Partition off your wood working machines from your metal working machines".

You can control/minimize dust but you can't eliminate it.

And the blast cabinets if possible...all best being outdoors IMO.
Made the mistake of setting up a stock duplicator in the shop, i hadn't adequately considered that dust collection with them is a futile undertaking. Even partitioning it off wasn't effective so it was disassembled until such time as I have a covered outdoor space for it.
