I Received My “New” Lathe Today

View attachment 1196124

I made the axles out of some 2 inch square tubing we had laying around. I drilled and tapped four 2 1/2 diameter ends for 5/8, welded them on the ends of the square tubing, screwed some all thread In with a jam nut, slid the wheel on and placed another 5/8 nut to hold it on.

The. axles are simply bolted to the bottom of the lathe feet.

I will have them off tomorrow night. I’ll that a picture.

Thank you Jackie!! Simple, yet effective...sounds like something even I could pull off. What kind of wheels did you use? I assume solid rubber of some sorts?

I am not “retiring”, although I am long past the age when most do.
I am looking to the future when I possibly won’t have my shops facility to take advantage of.

Our new house is 45 miles from my Business.
If my house was 45 miles to my shop Id do the same thing.
