Is it too soon to point out that some people just don't know WTF they're talking about and should just STFU? Just wondering is all. If ya don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't be replying here, Much less debating with those with experience in this specific area.

Fine...if you're tuner experience has not been positive...just post that. But don't stop there....Post your complete testing process and with what tuner. But stop the BS! That's enough! This site is about improving accuracy...not debating about opinion. Got a negative opinion on tuners...lets talk. I'll either make a believer out of you or not, but there won't be any of this website bs. You'll know, either way and you'll do your own shooting!

But stop pushing false info on others.
There have been about 20-30 national aggs(maybe WAY more)won with tuners, across all aggs, and multiple world records set with tuners. Buddy...you're on the wrong side of the fence on this subject.

That was at least ten years ago and tuners are definitely gaining in wins, records and popularity. Stay in the 20th century if that's what you wanna do and really...I hope YOU do just that.

OP, I would suggest you tune the rifle whether it wears a tuner or not.

This is a sad thread. There was some good information being put out, then it turned into shit.

To the OP. There is a place for tuners on centerfire rifles. There are many top end shooters that use them with success and that cannot be debated. They are up and down the line at any short range group match or UBR match and those guys believe in them. However, they are in no way a substitute for conventional tuning. There are no short cuts.

Jamb and touch are not the same thing, correct? What’s your process to find touch?

Best most accurate way I've found was Speedy G's way. Take off the barrel and clamp it with chamber up. Load one long. Plunk it in and it sticks under its own weight. Pull out with your finger nail and set a couple thousands deeper. Repeat till it drops in on the shoulder only. As you get real close you feel less and less resistance to extraction so back off adjustments to just 1 or 2 thou so you don't go over and miss touch. Might be a pain, but it is the most accurate way I've found.
