Seating Depth vs Tuner - what are your thoughts?

I didn't want to be an a$$ to the new member of this great forums BUT there are countless threads about tuners and load development and I had a feeling that the "new guy" is looking for the easy button instead learning the whole load development process and that's not how it works.
Then, why not type what you just did?

I’d love to hear what everyone thinks about this.
Are you loving these replies?
May I ask if you could give us all some background on your shooting background?
Do you understand and have working knowledge of the intricacies of seating depth?
Do you understand and have working knowledge of how tuners work (or don't)?
Ask anyone about using a tuner to make a poorly chosen load shoot like a winner in any given rifle.
It won't happen.

Tuners don't work if the shooter don't work. (UP THE LOAD)

The misconception here is that tuners replace load work up. That's not the case. The way I use tuners is as a tool to maintain tune as conditions change and tune goes away. That said, i haven't had to chase the lands as they move since going to tuners to keep the gun in tune.

Ultimately, testing is how we know stuff and if the testing isn't methodical the results will be random and of little or no value.

In my case the seating depth rules. After I have the best seating depth, I then get the tuner set. I use an Ezell tuner and I was sent a specific tuner target. Requires about 45 rounds, but then a photo is sent to my guy for the results and the best tuner settings as well as how to adjust for specific situations. Your adjustments are only two "notches" to the right or left. Definate improvement on my group size.

Not at all. I’ve always gone the full development route but I have a tuner and have been told you can get your velocity and skip the seating depth test and start dialing. So I thought I’d get some info before wasting time.

I am actually, not hurting my feelings at all, just wanted to see if they have any merit before I waste time.
I know and understand the full process, and have used it on many cartridges with many barrels, but I’ve never really used a tuner. Just thought I’d ask.
