California Bummer/BS

Not that we need one, but this adds just one more reason to NOT live in that kommie state (glad I left in 1975, will never return).

I fear for the entire west coast....Orygun and WA always watches closely to see if their liberal state legislatures can duplicate or even out-do Kalifornia.

With so many folks leaving CA, there won't be any gun owners left to violate their 2A rights much longer.

Mass disobedience and compliance is soon going to be the only answer. I can't even buy a freaking brick of .22 unless it's shipped from one FFL to mine.

Being someone who moved to Texas to escape high taxes, “assault weapons bans” and woke politics, I find it hard to understand why other folks don’t move. Yes, it’s hard and disruptive, but I found it to be worth the effort. A lot of left leaning Californios move here just to escape the high cost of living. I wish we could get more right leaning pro gun folks here before our diluted population turns this state blue!
Some folks admonished me for not standing my ground and fighting in Delaware. An honest assessment told me that Delaware was a lost cause. I think California is the same. Texas is my Alamo. We need more men on the wall! Come join us!
If Texas turns blue it’s all over. Lots of electoral votes.

That’s why I referenced the Alamo. The Republican politico's here are fighting the good fight and pushing back on the woke agenda but the Dems are enticing the younger voters with freebies and “inclusive” BS. It’s nip and tuck. We need an influx of right thinking folks instead of the wrong thinking folks !

Important Update for Our California Customers

Hi everyone,

New Cali-Law posted by one of my parts vendors.

We want to share a clear update with our California customers about new state requirements that will affect what we are allowed to ship to you.

These changes are the result of new California regulations, not a decision we made lightly. Our goal is to make sure you have clear, accurate information so there are no surprises when placing future orders.

Because the new requirements take effect on January 1, many companies, including us, will stop shipping certain items to California after December 20 to allow time for orders to be processed and delivered before the law goes into effect.

What this means for you

Beginning January 1, California law will prohibit us from shipping certain parts and accessories into the state. This applies to both direct-to-consumer orders and shipments to unlicensed dealers.

Restricted items include:

• Barrels
• Upper receivers
• Conversion kits
• Triggers
• Magazines
• Magazine funnels
• Speedloaders
• Parts kits
• Tools

• Any item California may view as an assault weapon component. This includes pistol grips, thumbhole stocks, folding or telescoping stocks, vertical foregrips, flash suppressors, and pistol barrel shrouds.

Until Californians get this figured out and taken care of I won't be shipping barrels to California. Sorry.

I'm convinced I've outlived my Generation.

I'm also convinced I'm not a member of the first Generation to be convinced that doom was on the horizon.

Yet we're still here.

I will say I'm not sad to know I'll not see what comes along in future decades.

So it goes.

AB1263, the “online parts ban,” takes effect on January 1, 2026.
Sig sent me a notification as a past customer that barrels and slides won't be shipped to California after the end of 2025. This is going to impact me as a benchrest shooter when I need a new barrel. If it extends to triggers, even more so. Living in the peoples republic of Kalifornika just keeps getting worse.

Depends on what the definition of "barrel" is.

IMO, if it can't be directly assembled to a firearm, it's not a barrel. No idea what the state thinks though.

This is happening all over the western states. They move here, get into politics and with the developers, change zoning laws and the western way of life changes in every way.

IMO, customers and sellers have to work together to move forward and still do business together and jump through the loops.

If you and along with other business owners stop selling to CA, then you and CA buyers are taking their bait. If the bait is taken then other states will follow.

And that means I won't be buying your barrel vise either, since that it's "clearly designed and intended to manufacture firearms" as set forth in AB 1263.

But of course you know that because you read and understood the legislation, right?

In reality the vise probably isn't restricted, and you just need proof of identification and a signature for a pre chambered barrel. At least until '27....

You gotta do what you gotta do brother. I read the legislation. It's a fairy tale.

The way I see read it, the shipper is the responsible party in this transaction to make all this magic stuff happen. All those checks and whatnot.

It's a bad law....

I realize that, which is I deleted the post.

If you are interested I can forward the CRPA's "guideline for the industry".

I respect your desire to avoid litigation with this state.
