Tack Driver 6 LIVE RESULTS

The Tack Driver is like no other event in shooting. Jim Cline has done a tremendous job in bring shooters from varied Disciplines together for one sole purpose, to conquer Orangeburg.

Marilyn and I had a great time.

I will be interested to see the equipment list, just to see how the varied calibers and different chamberings did against one another.

Good shooting everyone, and Congratulations to Ben!
Just made it home. Congrats to two great friends Ben and Speedy for an amazing show of class and skill.
As always, Jim and crew manage the best of events not just the TD but each IBS thru out the year. I truly feel I made some new friends this weekend and look forward to seeing all of you in the 2026 season.
Have safe and meaningful time with your families this holiday season and may God watch over each of you until we shoot again.

Congratulations to Ben Brubaker for the overall win. He’s one of the best guys in the shooting sport.

And also to Dick “The Hammer” Powers (score) and Speedy Gonzales (group) for their wins.

It was a great weekend seeing everyone and catching up. Once again, many thanks to Jim Cline and his crew for hosting, organizing, and working damn hard to make this event happen!

So what is thought to be the best at this match… who does the big prize go to.. the AG winner? I’d think the agg winner would win the crown but from reading the comments it appears Group winner is the big dog. Forgive me I dont shoot this format…

I have never shot so poorly in my life! Oh, I've had some pretty embarrassing days at the silhouette ranges, but nothing like this! The only time I had shots land where I expected was in practice or on the sighter. My equipment list reads like one from 1979, and that is indeed the year I first built the rifle. It was a PPC then. It was a 308 for this match.
Action- Wichita Mini
Stock- Lee Six
Trigger- Canjar LP
Cartridge- 308 Winchester, 334 neck, Rebated rim (to fit the PPC bolt face.)
Scope- Sightron 36X (this was new. I had an old 24X Leupold in the truck. It would not have hurt me to use it!
The barrel is new as well. It is a 14 twist from Hugh Williamson. It is an excellent barrel, and I have to apologize to Hugh for not showing what it can do.
Brass is Lapua
Bullets were out of the box Sierra 150's
CCI primers
41.5 of 3031
My rest is a 1975 RW Hart base with a Wichita top. Rear bag is a "Champion" (as if), which I bought off the bargain table at a local sporting goods store.
So, what went wrong? Well, at this point, I have to accept that I know absolutely nothing about rifles, accuracy, or shooting. I will be hesitant to offer an opinion on shooting or rifle building until my wounds heal!
Why would I enter a match like this with a rifle and equipment like this? Well, I've shot sub 1/4 aggs with this kind of stuff often, albeit 45 years ago! I have to accept that the piece that failed was like the guy sitting on the stool.
I've signed up for next year. I will again bring a vintage 308 (probably not the Wichita, but something from the same period).
I have to say, Jim Cline, along with his helpers, make this match. An excellent format, an excellent venue, and food which is just too good! Pitiful performance aside, I loved it. The evenings spent sitting around Dave Tooley's fire barrel made up for my shooting. WH

Thanks everyone for all the kind and generous comments. I still can't hardly believe what happened, and was hoping at best to be in the top ten. The honest truth is any success I've had is owed to many many folks that have shared a lot with me. At the end of the day the friendships made are a prize of this sport and one I want to give thanks for. You guys have celebrated with me and I want to do the same when it's your turn. This event is one that I look forward to each year and Mr. Cline and crew really know how to run a remarkable and one of a kind event. Many thanks to you all! -Benjamin Brubaker

Heck maybe it’s as simple as some ball players only have a court to play on and not a field. Then a lot of us only knew where the concession stands were! lol.
