Tack Driver 5 live results

Congratulations to Jason! He persevered through some very tricky conditions. Great shooting sir. My hat is off to you.

I also want to mention Hugh Williamson who came in first in score and Derick Loflin who finished first in group. Great shooting gentlemen.

Jim Cline worked his butt off and made this whole event what it really is. Without him none of this would be possible, so we all end up as winners in the end. Thank you Jim.
Well said.

I have run quite a few Matches, but I can’t even imagine what it takes to put on a show like The Tack Driver.
The appreciation throughout the Shooting Community is unanimous in this.

However, just for next year, how about………:)

Shout out to Mike Redin. Good shooting!
Thanks Gman and Jimmymac, I've never been so happy to place 7th in any shooting event ever. Best participation award ever, when you can be competitive against the big dawgs, it certainly feels good. The best of the best, and the time they took to acknowledge everyone no matter if they were another big name, or a ground hog shooter from PA.
I shot beside Jackie last year, and John Bosley this year, great experience. I hope they had as much fun as i did.
Someone asked Jackie how he was doing this year, his reply, "i feel great, just like i was 70 again" i damn near pissed myself laughing when he said it.
Certainly made a lot of great friends, can't wait till next year for the reunion.
Good luck to all the guys headed to Arizona.
Jim, kudos tou you and the entire support staff that puts on a great event

It has already been stated numerous times, but hats off to Jim Cline, and his entire crew. As far as I could tell the match ran flawlessly. There are a lot of moving parts to putting on any match, but especially one of this caliber. You guys and girls done great. This was my first tack driver, and I’m less that pleased with the way I finished, but I’m already thinking about next years and how I can improve.

I was fortunate enough to be able to share a bench with Jason Owens and watched every single shot through the spotting scope. I knew after his first few targets that he was going to be hard to beat. Jason is one of the most humble guys I’ve ever met. Glad to be able to call him a friend. Congrats brother, you EARNED it !!

Also, big congrats to one of my 600 yard traveling partners Derrick Loflin on winning first place in group. Awesome job buddy.

Thanks again to all the ones who made this match possible, and for a great weekend!

For anyone that might be interested in why I pulled a bullet on my first score target (both of you) 3 .268 neck cases got in with my .273 (what I was shooting) 6PPC cases SO when I sized them they sized very little, not enough to hold the bullet and when I inserted it the bullet basically fell out and I was screwed! Pretty proud of my group shooting, for a guy that never shoots it, was ranked 12th after 4 group (still would have been kill shots on a deer!) targets but on the fifth a 4" plus group (I really wish Jim would have fixed the mirage, couldn't see a thing!, Jim can you work on that for next year?) will pretty much seal the deal you are OUT! LOL Better luck next year!

Have to get some Bermuda grass seed on all that open white sand areas.
$6 to $8 bucks a pound for the seed. Anybody want to donate....$$ For
that matter, may need it. I heard another rumor about range expansion
and adding more benches......Hydro seed it with a dark dye in the fluid.
Just thinking out loud......

Tony McCoy said "if I pull into a range and don't see green grass I'm putting my truck in reverse and getting the heck out of town!" LOL It really is great to meet the people that you just read about and don't get the chance to meet unless you come to the tack driver! I didn't shoot to well but had a blast meeting people, isn't that what is really all about?
One other thing, that ground was so hard you'd need a jack hammer for each seed to be planted!!!

I don’t shoot competition but I read through this thread and the other thread and I watched Speedy’s video. Fun! You can certainly feel the good vibes resonating from the event and the competitiveness too! Congratulations to all who participated. Especially Jim and his family for putting it on, Jason for his win and ODCR for a winning rifle. Thanks for sharing
