Cz 600+ range or tikka super varmint

There's no comparison. The CZ 600 is pleged with accuracy problems. The Tikka is an outstanding rifle, glass smooth action, clover leaf groups right out of the box.
CZ in my opinion, really screwed up when they discontinued the 527

I have had several tikka rifles, still have a couple but the Cz range model is interesting with the .75 moa guarantee and laminate stock.

I like CZ firearms, most of them anyways but if I was choosing between those two rifles I’d go Tikka. I had one of the new super varmints in 6.5 PRC, it was a five shot sub .5 Moa rifle. I’ve played around with a lot of Tikkas, mine and those of family and friends, none were a dude and some were exceptional. Those Super varmints are nice rifles, I have another friend who has one and has been very pleased.

Here is my experience with CZ 600…complete disaster. I’d buy the Tikka.

What would you call the barrel profile on the Super Varmint?
Thanks!

I have a Tikka Varmint T3X model (circa 2020) in 223 Rem. With minimal load development, I had this rifle shooting sub 1/2 moa with 60 grain Vmax and Varget / H4895.

The modular stock is a nice feature. It comes standard with a vertical pistol grip; an effective feature to improve shooting since it positions the trigger finger at an optimum angle for excellent trigger control. It also comes standard with a raised cheek piece. A nice feature if you intend to install a scope with a large objective. I removed mine since I installed a 40 mm objective scope and low Talley Mounts which gave me desired cheek weld.

Trigger adjustment is simple if needed. The action is super smooth; the ejector design is the best I ever encountered on a factory rifle. I did not find the 24" varmint contour barrel overly burdensome for field use for a "posting up and sit" hunting scenario. However, I would not choose this model for a "walking around" hunting rifle. I would opt for the T3X lite model.

Without any aftermarket changes, I am 100%+ satisfied with this rifle and it's difficult to imagine you won't be either. It would be an excellent choice for a range only rifle.

I can't comment on the CZ since I never owned one but it's hard to imagine it is any better, if equal, to the Tikka.

I have tikkas as well , several actually and like them. Smooth and shoot well. I was hoping to find someone with first hand knowledge of the “600+ range” model Cz as it looks like a good fit for what I am wanting. Tikka doesn’t make a 6 cm and Cz does. If tikka made a heavier barrel in 6cm that’s the way I would go. I know you can change barrels etc but I may as well go used custom at that point.

As I said, I can't comment of the CZ since I never owned one. I agree, I would not buy a factory rifle with the initial idea of changing barrels. Instead, I would go for a custom build.

Never shot 600+ range so I can offer no advice, perhaps those that shoot at those ranges can. However wouldn't a 6.5 CM be a good choice? I think Tikka sales one in the varmint configuration in this caliper.

6.5 would be good and I may end up going that way , I have had a couple in the past and they shot well. Not that I need it but I just wanted to try the 6 cm. It’s That rabbit hole disease ya know.

I was in the same boat as you are. I wanted a 6cm for varmit and deer hunting. I've always had very good luck with CZ's so I bought the 600 Alpha. It was a huge disappointment! Could not get it to shoot for anything. The stock was very flimsy. I put a bipod on it and the forearm would flex almost 3/8th's of an inch.
I ended up with a Bergara in 6cm and have been really happy with it. Hope this helps

Thanks , well I’m hearing nothing super positive towards the 600’s so I guess I’ll pass on the Cz. I’ll take a look at the bergara too, may be what I am looking for.

Let me just say that I love CZ and what they've done with Dan Wesson and Colt. Their semi-auto's (scorpion in particular) and pistols are top notch. I've got a Shadow 2 and recently picked up a 97B. I've had an SP 01 (traded for the Shadow 2). Their 75 series are legendary. All are fantastic firearms. I've also got a 452 and 457's and have had 455's in the past. Great rimfire rifles. Their shotguns are a good value and I currently have a 12 gauge side by side hammer gun with 29 inch barrels and amazing wood for a CZ. I've had a number of their shotguns in the past as well. Not high end as far as shotguns go but they held up to my abuse. In rifles I currently have a 527 in 223 and I just sold a 550 FS in 9.3x62 (becoming recoil sensitive as I age). Those are great rifles.

That said, unfortunately CZ is suffering an Winchester 70 moment on the rifle front. Winchester dropped their control feed action in favor of a push feed. They lost a lot of business. They learned their lesson and the Winchester 70 is once again a control feed and perhaps even better than the original. Hopefully CZ learns the same lesson and brings back the control feed 527's and 550's. And hopefully they bring the full length stock versions back with them. Until then the 600 series do not appeal to me. Hell, Remington can't even get even contact on 2 lugs. How can one get decent even contact on 4 or 6 or more. Weatherby anyone?
