What would you call the barrel profile on the Super Varmint?I like CZ firearms, most of them anyways but if I was choosing between those two rifles I’d go Tikka. I had one of the new super varmints in 6.5 PRC, it was a five shot sub .5 Moa rifle. I’ve played around with a lot of Tikkas, mine and those of family and friends, none were a dude and some were exceptional. Those Super varmints are nice rifles, I have another friend who has one and has been very pleased.
It’s not a full on bull barrel, a bit lighter than that. What would you call the barrel profile on the Super Varmint?
Thanks!
Last one I seen reminded me of a sendero profileWhat would you call the barrel profile on the Super Varmint?

That’s pretty nice for a factory set up then.Last one I seen reminded me of a sendero profile
Mine is 1.140 breach and .875 muzzle. SV in 308.What would you call the barrel profile on the Super Varmint?

I could be wrong. I have not even picked up the new green stocked versions so it’s been awhileThat’s pretty nice for a factory set up then.
The CTR’s seem a hair light to me.
I have tikkas as well , several actually and like them. Smooth and shoot well. I was hoping to find someone with first hand knowledge of the “600+ range” model Cz as it looks like a good fit for what I am wanting. Tikka doesn’t make a 6 cm and Cz does. If tikka made a heavier barrel in 6cm that’s the way I would go. I know you can change barrels etc but I may as well go used custom at that point.I have a Tikka Varmint T3X model (circa 2020) in 223 Rem. With minimal load development, I had this rifle shooting sub 1/2 moa with 60 grain Vmax and Varget / H4895.
The modular stock is a nice feature. It comes standard with a vertical pistol grip; an effective feature to improve shooting since it positions the trigger finger at an optimum angle for excellent trigger control. It also comes standard with a raised cheek piece. A nice feature if you intend to install a scope with a large objective. I removed mine since I installed a 40 mm objective scope and low Talley Mounts which gave me desired cheek weld.
Trigger adjustment is simple if needed. The action is super smooth; the ejector design is the best I ever encountered on a factory rifle. I did not find the 24" varmint contour barrel overly burdensome for field use for a "posting up and sit" hunting scenario. However, I would not choose this model for a "walking around" hunting rifle. I would opt for the T3X lite model.
Without any aftermarket changes, I am 100%+ satisfied with this rifle and it's difficult to imagine you won't be either. It would be an excellent choice for a range only rifle.
I can't comment on the CZ since I never owned one but it's hard to imagine it is any better, if equal, to the Tikka.
As I said, I can't comment of the CZ since I never owned one. I agree, I would not buy a factory rifle with the initial idea of changing barrels. Instead, I would go for a custom build.I have tikkas as well , several actually and like them. Smooth and shoot well. 6.5 would be good and I may end up going that way , I have had a couple in the past and they shot well. Not that I need it but I just wanted to try the 6 cm. Never shot 600+ range so I can offer no advice, perhaps those that shoot at those ranges can. However wouldn't a 6.5 CM be a good choice? I think Tikka sales one in the varmint configuration in this caliper.
I was in the same boat as you are. I wanted a 6cm for varmit and deer hunting. I've always had very good luck with CZ's so I bought the 600 Alpha. It was a huge disappointment! Could not get it to shoot for anything. The stock was very flimsy. I put a bipod on it and the forearm would flex almost 3/8th's of an inch.I have tikkas as well , several actually and like them.
