107 gr. SMK's and 108 gr. Elites,.. NO Problem !
I bought, a New Manuf'd, SS Rem., 700 "Lefty" short action from, Bruno's ( During Covid ) and It's, Perfect !
Ditto as to, the 1-7.5 twist, Rem-Age Barrel from, NSS !

Depends on your definition of "fits easily"

Re-read what I wrote, which I defined as the boattail/ body juncture of the bullet above the neck/shoulder juncture of the brass, and still be able to touch the lands. Plus it doesn't impede in the powder capacity, depending on powder of course.

Hunting, I'd go 6mm Creedmoor or 243w. Easy ammo options everywhere.

I bought into the 6gt to go with my 243w. Seemed like a good compromise on performance and barrel life.

They all shoot the same weight bullets.
Comes down to brass, dies and finding someone to chamber what you want..

Guys, the XC wasn’t first, the 6X was first. It was designed to be made from 22-250 brass and could be chambered with a 243 reamer held a bit short. It required fireforming and fed smoothly because the shoulder was the same as the 243. However, the 243 reamer was a bit more generous (obviously) at the base than the 22-250 brass. My gunsmith had a reamer ground that was closer to the 22-250 case and our rifles shot fine and the brass has lasted a long time. I made 500 cases and after several years of shooting some of my brass is getting tired. Now Tubb has the XC II which is designed to provide tighter dimensions at the base of the case and brass to match. On top of that there are several other cartridge choices which ammo, brass, and factory loaded ammo have become available. I want to make sure that I choose the best option.

I don’t think Tubb had anything to do with the xcII.
I have shot the xc and 6creed burnt barrels up in both. I have to say 6xc

Fished out, my Split Case, some 108 gr. Elites and Checked them, Just for,, YOU !
At a COAL of 2.750" the 108 gr. Elite's Shank / BT,.. IS,. WELL AWAY from, the Neck Shoulder, Junction.
Looks to be,.. .040 to .050 of "Space" to, Me !
You Do realize that, David Tubb designed, the Cartridge around, the much Bigger, 115 gr DTAC Bullet.
Like a Beautiful Lady, the 6 XC case has, a Nice,.. Long Neck !

There was a LOT of confusion with, the guys that wanted to make their Own Brass from, .22-250 ( Ver 2 ).
Once, I sorted everything out and asked, a couple of "Knowledgeable" Guys on Here,.. I went, Version One Tubb, w/ Forster Dies, + New Norma Brass= NO,.."Problems" !
And YES, the XC is, easier on Barrels !
A little LESS Powder and the Long Neck,.. "Do It" over, the 6 Creed.

I use the same dies. Been a known 6XC fan for years now. Almost the same setup as you Lefty....NSS full bull Savage 8 twist 26" barrels....have 2 now. The old fella at NSS talked me into it back in 2015 or something like that. I say go with the 6XC.......but I'm biased as heII!

Distance absolutely. Hunting deer, varmints, pigs, and of course banging on steel. Doubtful that I would compete in matches. I am more interested in which version is easier. And of course, I want it to be accurate.

The 6 XC loaded with, 108 grain, ELD-X's or, 108 gr. Elite Hunter Bergers @ 3,000 fps, will Snuff out, All the Pig's, Deer and Antelope you want and WAY out there,.. if, desired

XC. period. Load, shoot, have fun It really is the perfect blend and most efficient cartridge out there. Once you have it, you'll start to see what makes it better than all the rest. Give Mr. Tubb his earned diligence and not the folks at Hornady who stole the idea out from under him.

that's some funny shit right there. Tubb copied the 6X47 Swiss Match round and shortened the neck just enough not to get sued.

Well it shoots better than the 6.5 Creedmoor. I have seen Tubb raise his eyebrows about that Fad.

I'm running 6x47L but I am pretty sure my next barrel will be a 6GT because RL16 has become so hard to find.
