I thought $50's were legal tender until Mc Donald's refused to take one. Too much counterfeiting going on she said....in a town of 5,500....WTF. Employees not qualified to check the strip or use the marking pen????. Just like the charges on credit cards, one does it, they all will follow.

You mentioned record keeping, a lot of people that I do business with now I text my orders to them as a way to keep track of the transaction.

Like all pre 1964 coinage ,it's metal contents more value than its face value. Penny haven't been copper since 1982 {?]} Bad money drives out good. Your grandma and maybe your mommy hid the silver coinage away. Took it out of circulation.

I knew a man who said the first business that refused his paper fiat , he'd ask them to call a cop.The fiat plainly states for all debts public and private. He'd do it.

I used pennies a lot growing up when I could turn one into one of those mini tootsie rolls. I could take a bag of those to school and double my money until the principle caught on and shut my little gig down.

Yeah....... A pop bottle laying in the weeds got you 2 cents at any store.
I traded for an "Atomic Fireball", or a Butter Scotch if they were out of

I think recent history is more relevant.

Past 50 years? Government has caused far more problems than solutions for me.

My observations tell me the only one's who embrace Government are those who exist off Government.
Which means all the rest of us are paying for that.

Que the recent howling by the MSM. They're getting the funding cut off.

Pennies are not made from copper, haven't been for a long time.

pre 1982 us one cent coins contained 95% copper composition.

Some on here that lived in my area will remember Saegertown
pop. You could buy a bottle for a nickle, guzzle it down, then
walk back in for the 2 cents, and another fireball. Cherry was
my favorite.

Well S.O.B !! Just thought of something......Pa. sales tax is 6 cents
