There were some early 1983's made from copper slugs but pulled
before circulation. Find one of those and go right to the retirement

I still do. I used to be one of those kids that scoured the roadsides for returnable bottles.
I also crawl around at the range picking up brass. My father drove it into me. Work hard, save and invest. I retired at 50. Guess he was right.

I think recent history is more relevant.

Past 50 years? Government has caused far more problems than solutions for me.

My observations tell me the only one's who embrace Government are those who exist off Government.
Which means all the rest of us are paying for that.

A lot of things have come out of government that I disagree with or don't benefit me personally, but i see a lot of things that benefit a lot of people who need help. I can live with that. Many people can't survive without. some help from time to time.

I'm pretty sure there's enough pennies in circulation to last a few lifetimes. They just finally got smart and quit spending 3c to make a 1c item.

It’ll be a cluster flock. I can’t see any business rounding down on a cash sale. It forces buyers into using credit or debit cards. Or checks.

Can’t see local, state, and federal taxes rounding down either.

Keep them pennies, the days of exact change are coming.

I collected pennies back in the early 60's and one of the holy grail pennies was the 1909 s vdb. I did finally get one. When we moved, my collection was shipped along with everything else. Never saw it again.

Anybody ever visit the Lincoln Highway bust of Lincoln on interstate 80
in Wyoming ?? Always had to make a rest stop there and toss some Lincoln
cents. The base of the pedestal was always covered with them. I wonder
what it grossed per year ?? Would have at least covered grounds work ??
