Latest news, the Indianapolis(new) hub is having issues getting the new larger facility running.
Here in Kentucky, the hub, at Louisville, Ky, has MAJOR issues with sorting out and delivering mail to various towns & cities around Kentucky. One example: A Man bought an expensive watch for his wifes' Christmas gift (2024). He purchased it way before Christmas around the middle of November. When it never arrived, he called the store and they said it was sent to him weeks ago. Don't know if there was any insurance on the watch, but this is only one example of whats going on with the poorly ran USPS.Latest news, the Indianapolis(new) hub is having issues getting the new larger facility running.
Latest news, yeah, the snail mail edition. It just amazes me how far this country has deteriorated & I am not that old.
The same thing happened to my son. State Farm really gave him a rough time until he told them he was a county Sheriff was referring this to the state AG. He is a shameless name dropper. JeffI’m thinking when it takes over 2 weeks to get a letter 70 miles the usps has a big problem. After paying premiums to State Farm continuously for over 50 years, they cancelled my insurance last month for nonpayment. As bad as I hate to, I’m going to switch everything to online bill payments. I’m also going to explore other insurance options.
I live 3mi outside of a small town in eastern WA and get rural delivery. No residential delivery for anyone in town (pop <300) so everyone inside town boundary has a PO box. If I mail a letter to a town resident, it gets picked up here, goes to PO in town, then to mail processing center in Spokane, then back to town hopefully by next day - not.^^^^^^^
I live in a town of about 22,000. We use to have an intown drop slot and an out of town drop slot. Now it's just out of town. All mail goes from here to the Twin Cities then to Rochester and finally back here, a distance of approximately 250 miles total and as stated above 5-7 days.
Not only USPS but UPS and FedEx, have a package sent from Tulsa OK was to be here yesterday, stuck somewhere, I’ll get a notification when it starts moving again so it says, UPS package from Michigan, came to South Charleston WV 30 minutes from the house, went to Roanoke VA back to South Charleston. Can’t beat automation.

Things going to NZ and Oz going this way from Texas. I thought it should have gone to the west coast!
My package left Texas on the 16th Jan and arrived in Indianapolis the same day and now on the 19th of Feb., it is still in Indianapolis! They won't take a lost package claim since it is still being scanned and is moving back and forth across the street!i think the workers just dont give a crap had a package sent to me priority 3 day shipping it literally went from Birmingham ,al past the Montgomery hub to the mobile ,al hub then back to Montgomery. what should have taken 3 days ended up taking 7 days when i called to check on it i was told 3 day shipping is only an estimate and could take 7 to 10 days .
I had the same issue in the Indianapolis distribution center. The package kept going on a loop. I put in a missing mail request and the postmaster of the destination post office (Wellington Ohio) actually called me. She said that USPS is having nationwide issues with their sorting machines and that Indianapolis was impacted. Any way she got in touch with the Indianapolis distribution center and (I guess) had them walk my package through the sorting. The package arrived in Ohio the next day.Still jumping around in Indianapolis!
