The Pride caption was an actual article in that publication.
The other are from the Babylon Bee and are spot on satire.

10 Things That Caused The California Wildfires

As the world continued to look on in shock at the devastation being caused by multiple wildfires ravaging Southern California, people have been looking for what — or who — to blame.
To streamline the finger-pointing process, The Babylon Bee has compiled the following list of likely causes of the California wildfires:

  1. Lack of diversity in the fire department: Nothing causes more devastation than placing the most qualified candidates in positions based on merit.
  2. Capitalism: When was the last time you heard about wildfires happening in a socialist utopia? Exactly.
  3. Plastic straws: The effects of you drinking your iced frappés through plastic straws can be felt across the country.
  4. Steve: That guy is bad news.
  5. January 6: Further evidence that the attempted insurrection is a wound that will never heal.
  6. Racism: The flames of a wildfire are nothing compared to the scourge of white supremacy.
  7. Billy Joel: He claims he didn't start the fire. But we know better.
  8. The Jews: Something bad happened? You know who to blame.
  9. Negative reviews of The Acolyte: None of this would have happened if Star Wars fans weren't so filled with hate.
  10. Donald Trump: They tried to warn us about him. Now look what happened.gay1.jpggay4.jpggay5.jpggay6.jpg

Professional Politicians, ... Spit!
a good deal of my career leading non-profit organizations entailed spending time inside the DC Beltway meeting with government officials - bureaucrats, political appointees, and elected politicians. I watched a number of the latter come into office with high ideals and morals. They quickly found out if they didn't toe the party line, red or blue, they were assigned crummy office locations, crummy committee assignments, and received little party support come re-election time. Too bad, as some of them were actually "good people" that discovered the political reality of DC. "Spit" is a succinct summary of their worth after a few election cycles.

and one (rhetorically) asks : how is it that regular folks come to DC as middle class people, and after 8 years buy 12 acres on Martha's Vineyard? Being an elected politician is not supposed to be a career. Look no further than our founding fathers who used the summer recess to go home and harvest crops, tend to their businesses, etc. Professional politicians is the answer!

Time magazine says it’s the “global warming” that’s at fault. No mention of City or State Government lack of preparedness .

While I understand the difference between Climate and Weather, a while back I decided to track my local monthly temperatures along with what it cost me for electrical power per kWh of use since I put in solar panels to include the cost of the panels. This "weather" data below is for where I live in Arizona and as one might expect in AZ, electrical power use tends to be high with a lot of AC use.

From what I've read about "climate" change, where we're seeing elevated extremes, it seems I'm seeing that a little bit in my short term data, though the average over these years hasn't changed much???

No. . . I'm not really OCD! ;)

Funny how there isn’t any water to fight fires, yet there’s an ocean all along the coast…..

Salt water can have salt removed. Pipes and tanks can be fabricated. Small power stations can be built to operate the equipment to keep the tanks topped off. Once fire fighting water is full, excess water could be sold for profit.

That would require effective money management skills… well… it was a thought.

I went through the 2017 Sonoma/Napa fires. It's unreal the absolute devastation that happens SO quickly. We were proactive and had cleared or raised 200 feet around the house. The fire department said that was the ONLY reason they fought to save the house (which they did). When faced with so many structure fires, if you haven't done anything to mitigate the risk, they simply move on to someone that has.
I was able to save my little Kubota though!

CA votes blue, NC votes red! That is making a difference right now, but maybe not after the 20th.

Blue voters rely on the government, Red voters rely on themselves. Folks, it's pretty simple.

Just heard the area of the latest fire hadn't had a controlled burn or any brush removable in 50 years. WTF!

Biden says no expense spared for CA.
Meanwhile WNC / well you know.
Evil, vindictive bstds…
Yep. If it wasn't for Samaritan's Purse and other private people and organizations getting it done, we'd just be up a dookie creek without a paddle. And....all fire department personnel get nada unless we had a pay program in place prior to Helene. Kinda defeats point of volunteer but....there ya go. Who cares. Been 3months of helping my community.

The foothills above Altadena have burned a few times since then. The real fuel was in the neighborhoods; older wood framed and in many cases wood sided houses, surrounded by 100+ years worth of large mature trees, Palms, and foliage in almost every yard. Watch the IG clip I posted above for the conditions that devastated the town. Unless the slopes were completely bare of vegetation, the arcing of the SCE transmission line would still have caused this. Just my humble opinion as a 30 year resident in Altadena with a couple years as a Firefighter / EMT / Engineer in Sonoma County.

I think most if not a lot of the land out there belongs to the Federal Govt--Maybe they have not taken care of their end as far as brush control etc ??
Blame game is not productive--with that wind-- no plan, no persons, nothing could have stopped it
