Disappointed with Smith and Wesson

Have a Victory 22. Got somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 rounds through it in 7 years. Been getting light and no strikes frequently. Traced the problem to a worn out firing pin rebound spring. Easy fix. But S&W won't sell the part. They want you to send it in or take it to an authorized repair place. The manual doesn't even have a schematic & parts list nor will S&W send you one. The gun is well designed to make it so simple to do. Can't understand all this. Have the part coming from Midwest Gun Works. Kind of soured me again on S&W.

You can thank the Lawyers for that. Tommy Mc

Wow! Back in the day you could buy almost any part from S&W. Their old manuals had a parts list, and it was a simple matter to just call them (before AI) and order the part you needed.

Sad to hear that change in policy. But like a lot of things today, the trend is toward more chaos and machines running the world.

I haven't bought anything from S&W since they caved to the locking device demand. I haven't bought anything from Brownells since they cheated me on something 14 years ago on sale and wouldn't respond to my email. But, that's just the way I am.

You won’t get better quality than these guys….

Tandemkross was on the Victory from the outset. They are a forward thinking, innovative and quality minded group selling top-notch products.
My Victory is (and this will likely start a fight) a better feeding, functioning and just as accurate as any of the three M41 pistols I have owned.

Mongo, can't understand why you would be mad. S&W will Pau shipping both ways and, in most cases, make ALL necessary changes of parts to get your sweet little 22LR back to as new condition. A little bit of please and thank you goes a long way.

More companies will be following that example, due to Lawyers and changes is firearm regulations, caused by recent government/court rulings. It is not just S&W. Liability and suits have caused companies to change thier old style of doing business.

I’ve broken my firing pin on a S&W 15-22 twice. First one around 10k rounds, second one around 3k. Each time I called they sent me a new one no questions asked.

Yea Knotwild I hear you! I bought a rifle scope that had a promotion with it. Buy the scope before the date and get a free wind beaker. Bought the scope filled out the request for the jacket waited forever called the company twice. They never intended to send a jacket. AT&T owed me a balance when I finally got my account canceled they sent a gift card. I told them I wanted a check thats how I paid them? The pin number on the card doesn't work, so instead of the money I got a promise and a worthless piece of plastic. If they had sent a bad check I would have a legal recourse, not with a gift card. I love my country but I think we have more corporate thieves than many other countries.

That would be like sending your car back to the factory for new wiper blades and waiting several weeks to get it back. Just don't see the need for the inconvenience for such a simple repair.

I had installed a Tandemkross trigger but removed it. Too much sideway slop - and yes - the bushing was installed. For me, it was worse than shooting with the heavier factory trigger.

If I sent a high mileage car back to GM for wiper blades and they installed new wiper blades, fixed a slipping transmission, replaced the engine because hey diagnosed an eminent failure AND covers shipping both ways well I guess I would be P*ssed off too! (NOT)

I bought a 10-22 trigger kit with lighter springs, upgraded sear, etc from Volquartsen a few years back.
After installing it exactly following the instructions from them it didn't function correctly and the safety wouldn't engage. I could have just gone on a few forums and trashed the company BUT I called hem instead. "send the entire trigger assembly in please. we will take care of it. They did and had it back in 3 days (remember the good old days when the mail actually was a reliable and fast). It worked great!
Not any company out there 100% but many, especially in the firearms industry, will go the extra mile to take care of you when they miss the mark.

I have a lot of Tandemkross parts in my Ruger 22/45s and 10/22s, including several triggers which I installed and am very happy with, equal to or better than the VQ triggers I had before. They are now the first place I check for parts, even before Ruger. I second what @shoot4fun said, great company. If you need Victory parts use them.

Savage is the same way. Sad the way this world has become. Tommy Mc

Go to Tandemkross they have upgraded springs, firing pins and a host of other goodies for your pistol.

Ruger and others have done the same for decades so this dilemma isn't anything new. I somehow lost a spring on a Ruger MKII many years ago before any aftermarket parts were available so it had to go back to Ruger for the fix.
