I work for an auto dealership, ill keep names out of this for a few reasons. My dealership was told by the manufacturer to not let vehicles charge overnight in our shop. Also if we have one that has a bad battery park it away from EVERYTHING untill repaired and get the old battery out of the shop asap. While this conversation was happening there was also insurance companies that backed this stuff. Now how is the consumer going to not park it in their garage at night when many HOA neighborhoods around my parts do not allow vehicles in driveway overnight??? If there house burns down is this not covered? They want them out of our shop overnight. I think we have replaced about 8 batteries on brand new vehicles at my work. These were straight off the transport truck, brand spankin new. At $105k starting price i will pass.

I see the standard for an unstable (questionable() RESS os 50' in all directions. That is until it is confirmed stable to ship.

Once this technology is available without taxpayer subsidies to make it somewhat affordable, no requirements are there to install a custom recharging station that's good for absolutely nothing but charging that car, I can travel across country without panicking about finding a recharging station and battery replacement doesn't cost half or more of the cost of the new vehicle and that remains true for a decade I'll consider one.
Until then the answer is NO.

My time is too precious to teach you how to search the Internet and go look at readily-available published government statistics. If and when you come back and say something like "Nope, there's only 80x the number of ICE on the road vs BEV" then I'll know you're not just popping off blanks. Anyone can blurt out "Prove it" just to score a cheap point. Any thoughtful, reasonably-informed reader here will recognize I don't make outlandish claims.

I won’t site independent studies, as they are numerous, easy to find and it’s worth doing your own research as you’re able to decide for yourself the accuracy of the source.

Compare the Ford Pinto, to the Tesla. Currently there are roughly 2 million Tesla’s on the road in the United States. Roughly the same amount of Ford Pinto’s on the road in 1977, when Ford was forced to recall the vehicle due to fires by death caused by collision.

The search questions are very simple.
How many people died due to fires caused by collision in a Ford Pinto causing a recall?

How many people have died due to fires caused by collision in a Tesla?

How many people have died in other EV’s due to collision caused fires?

How many Tesla’s have been recalled due to deaths by fire after a collision?

This is pretty fair comparison, number of vehicles on the road, number of years in production and such.

It’s also worthwhile to check and see how many people actually died in Corvairs, and Ford Explorers before they were recalled. Then ask yourself why do EV’s seem to get a pass when it comes to killing people?

If there's one business toward which it's been 100% worthwhile throwing taxpayer money, it's the business that provides nearly all our abundant, reliable, cheap energy, and enabled the vast spread of civilization and prosperity we enjoy today - while it lasts anyway: the fossil energy business. Those who seek the imminent demise of that business are the same people who believe the best way to "save the planet" is to reduce its human population by 2/3, and leave the remaining third living in caves.

It is certainly not a fallacy. Oil/Gas subsidies date further back than 1916. Costing more than 10 Billion per year to us. Many of which are permanent unlike EV and others which have to be renewed. The EV subsidies took off in 2009 with the ARRA. 93 years after oil and gas. To have an honest discussion you cannot ignore the elephant in the room. This comes from someone benefitting from oil and gas because I have a pig launcher on my property that we get royalties from.

I think neither one should be subsidized. I think we should start just letting people pay their own way, and let it fail if it fails.

I agree that we need to make people pay their own way one way or another. Serve the Nation for 4 years as a Veteran, or something like the C.C.C. during the Great Depression or some type of civil work that benefits all of us together. To many free rides just so we can consume more. How long can we sustain the materials needed to built and keep electric cars on the road. Not long. I assume some parts of our Nation are not as impacted as others by this unbridled growth but from what I have seen, electric cars are not the answer.

I just took delivery or a ‘24 F-350 Powerstroke to pull a 32 foot gooseneck 16K GVWR 6 horse head to head trailer. There will never be a EV truck that can meet the Gross Combined 28K that I require. If there was, you couldn’t find enough charging stations to get out of the county. I can imagine sitting at an EV Charging Station with a trailer load of horses and mucking stalls into the parking lot.

For what it is worth, “Sparky”, my Chevy Bolt EUV, just rolled over 50,000 miles in 22 months.

That is a 92 mile commute 6 days a week, plus my Wife drives it to church on Sunday.

I did have to replace the windshield wiper blades.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not for or against using batteries and electric motors for the right purpose, but I am against using them to set people against each other in order to divide and conquer Western Civilizations.

I worked on GM Sunraycer, EV1, EV2, many vehicles, aircraft, ships, torpedoes, etc., and many orbital and deep space projects that were entirely based on electric power. As a scientist I make a poor politician... but I can do the math here... YMMV
