The Creedmoor legend grows!

I laughed at It myself for, a Few Years ( The Early "Stories" of, Elk Slayer at,. 1,200 - 1,500 Yds,. B S )
After giving My grandson my .243 Tikka about 4 year ago, I tried to figure out, what would Be,. BEST to replace it with ( I wanted, a Little More Bullet & Power ) But, NOT, as much as, .270 Win. or, .280 Rem.
The 6.5 Creed., WAS, the Logical "choice" for, Me. Low recoil, Accurate to 800+ Yds, On Steel and I could Still "Pop" an Elk out to, 500 Yds,.. IF, need Be, W/ 140 Elite Hunters or, 143 gr. ELD-X's.
I mostly shoot, the 130 gr. ELD-M's for, Steel Plinking / LR Yotes out of, my Braked, Tikka.
YUP,.. it's Fun to Shoot, Accurate ( 3's to, 1/2 MOA ), and,. low, LOW Recoil for this,. Ole' Man !!!
I get my Hair Cut, regularly,.. So,.. NO, Man Bun, Yet !
You were describing it, and I instantly thought you were describing the 7mm-08.

It was a clever move by Hornady. Give the average buyer a lot of the benefits of a custom rifle in a factory rifle. No special knowledge required, "match" ammo off the shelf and small groups at distance without much effort. It's like most popular things, it works and is affordable (not the same as cheap). I shoot a .308, it's more fun beating the CM boys with a "handicap"! ;)

I’m reading the Joe Picket series of books. They’re very good but I wince at some of the author’s gun references. Anyone hear of a “6.5 Creedmoor Magnum” capable of hitting targets at 1800 yards?
childs play- the standard manbun can shoot a 1/4" group at 1800 yds -manbun magnum must be capable of out of this world preformence---:eek: better add onea them to the safe Texan!! the rest of them in there will be instantly obosolete---lol

A big shout out to Capt. Dan to keep this post going. Dans 6.5 thread is in the 6.5CM record books as I understand it and he is the founder of the "Talisman". Great guy I did business with him and met him in person.
If it's Norma brass with a 143eldx it's 1 of 4 in existence, and a original. These might be worth something. lol
Then there was a few flamboyant sparkly ones to the point of being gawdy.
Latest version looks to be a Game king 20240905_042550.jpg

I carry one with me now in the pickup. I like the results on hogs better than the 22-250 that I did carry, plus it carries right over on into deer season. Probably mostly enjoy it because I dial the scope on it and carry a range finder to play some at distance.

Ya' know, if Remington would have put the proper twist on it's
barrels when it released the .260, this thread would probably not
exist. Man, there was some lively threads going back then......LOL
I think that’s true. I believe they came out with a 10 twist if memory serves. If it had been an 8…..

ETA Winchester didn’t do the 284 any favors either…

You were describing it, and I instantly thought you were describing the 7mm-08.
The 7MM-08 IS, a very Fine Cartridge,. IF, you, "Need MORE" and are, willing to SUFFER, a Bit extra,. Recoil of, the 150 - 168 grain, High BC, Bullets ( My son Killed, a NICE 5 x 6 Bull Elk in Southern Idaho with, 150 gr ELD -X's ).
He Now has, a Braked, 7MM PRC,.. cause' he "Think's" that, he "Needs More" than,.. his old, 7-08 ( LOL )
I'm sticking with My 6.5 Creed and 130's at 2,800 FPS ( I'll JUST, Get, a Bit,.. CLOSER, on Game ! ).
Everybody's,.. GOT, their,. Opinions !
