The Creedmoor legend grows!

Little known Creedmoor facts

1. Gun shop employees who drop 6.5mm bullets on the floor, yell out, "Creedmoor!" to ward off evil spirits.
2. In mathematics, multiplying pi times two is called 'a Creedmoor', or a factoring of Creedmoor.
3. Zak Bagans, star of Ghost Adventures, wears a 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge around his neck as a good luck charm.
4. In several African languages, Creedmoor is a word meaning 7.
5. The Scottish have long claimed the Americans stole the name Creedmoor. Scotland boasts not one, but two Creed Moors. The moors are mystical places where magic and evil are found.
6. The Creedmoor was the name of a car made by US inventor John Alexander Creedmoor. His company closed in the early 1900s after only 6.5 cars were made.
7. Edgar Allan Poe died never knowing the joy of a Creedmoor.
It's called a Talisman and I faithfully and proudly wear mine!

True. Those that make fun and slam the 6.5 Creedmoor, probably never shot one. If they did and really learned how to reload and shoot one, would very fast change their tune. It is a fine cartridge and has been around longer than most think and will continue to do so.
Sorry boys don't put the Creedmoor down a friend of mine has been shooting consistent 4-5- and 6" Ten shot groups at 1000 yards. Like I've always said BARRELS and Bullets!

I think some of the continuing trash talk is from the hunting side… I still hear the Needmore and Bleedmore comments locally. I just remind them of bullet selection and shot placement.

The ones that don’t reload are at the mercy of the factory offerings, and some are better than others. And what you would wish for in a particular bullet weight or type isn’t always available. Or the rifle ammo combination isn’t working.

There’s a really great amount of factory ammo now.

Why mess around, just get a 105 mm howitzer and be done with it. It will certainly take out any target at 1800 yards and any critter, but it might be a little cumbersome taking in the field.  ;)
When i grew up, we were not a gun family.

We had a mil surp 30-06 and some corn cob 16ga shotgun that gathered dust in the back storage area of the basement. In the 18 years I lived at home, there was never a live round in the house. Dad never hunted.

In my early 30's when I took up rifle shooting and hunting and I asked my Dad why he never hunted or shot his firearms. He reminded me that for 20 years in the Army reserve he got to shoot a self propelled 8" (203mm) howitzer 4-5 times a year. He said, to paraphrase, why would I bother with rifles when I can shoot a 8" cannon 26 miles.

It's too bad the creedmoor is a great cartridge... because it's so much fun to laugh at
I laughed at It myself for, a Few Years ( The Early "Stories" of, Elk Slayer at,. 1,200 - 1,500 Yds,. B S )
After giving My grandson my .243 Tikka about 4 year ago, I tried to figure out, what would Be,. BEST to replace it with ( I wanted, a Little More Bullet & Power ) But, NOT, as much as, .270 Win. or, .280 Rem.
The 6.5 Creed., WAS, the Logical "choice" for, Me. Low recoil, Accurate to 800+ Yds, On Steel and I could Still "Pop" an Elk out to, 500 Yds,.. IF, need Be, W/ 140 Elite Hunters or, 143 gr. ELD-X's.
I mostly shoot, the 130 gr. ELD-M's for, Steel Plinking / LR Yotes out of, my Braked, Tikka.
YUP,.. it's Fun to Shoot, Accurate ( 3's to, 1/2 MOA ), and,. low, LOW Recoil for this,. Ole' Man !!!
I get my Hair Cut, regularly,.. So,.. NO, Man Bun, Yet !
