On a side note, I bet those two have barrels stacked a little deeper than mostI guess you haven't seen Lou Murdica's video on cleaning? He is a Hall of Fame benchrest shooter who cleans all of his barrels with a drill. He said in the video he has sent the barrels back to the manufacture who have examined them and said they showed no sign of damage. Erik Cortina has mentioned that he has done it to his barrels as well. They are both pretty good at what they do I think.
I can certainly relate to the arthritis issues.I have done it myself with one friend calling me nuts, but my guns still shoot excellent. I have major problems with my shoulders, wrists and slight paralysis in my fingers from arthritis, so I had to do something.
What rod are people using to clean the real stubborn areas in the throat with a powered drill? I have a super old stubborn barrel and I’d like to use a rod of some sort to chuck up in the drill, but I have no idea what rod to use that is threaded for 8-32 brushes. How can you prevent the rod from spinning in the drill chuck??

to get this back to original question:
"What rod are people using to clean the real stubborn areas in the throat with a powered drill?"
Tony Boyer probably had no problem with carbon in the throat because he changed his barrels as if they were underwear. Same with power tools for cleaning I suspect. Sure it's quick and easy if you pull barrels before things even begin to look bad on target.Funny thing is that these US Gun experts like Eric Cortina, and the other U tube US experts are not the world champions of F class. There more interested in selling product and being an expert.
