AR 15 trigger and stock

No idea what that means?

My lower is an Aero Precision and I'm thinking of getting the Luth-AR MBA-1 stock kit with their buffer/spring.
I believe he was referring to the buffer tube size.

If you've got OEM Aero, you've got milspec; pretty sure you're fine on the dimension aspect.

However, the stock listed is for an A2 length tube. Your rifle may have a carbine tube; you'll need to check the length.

The milspec and commercial pertain to the buffer tube. They are slightly different diameters. But if you are getting the Luth stock and buffer assembly you are good to go.

The stock comes as a kit, so I would assume they give you the right buffer for the stock.

I don't have the rifle yet. Just the AERO lower, and I'll be getting the 20" krieger complete upper in a couple weeks.

Just trying to figure out all what I need now as far as trigger/stock/mounts for the rest of it.

Think I'm getting there with it. Way too many AR parts and pieces, and for someone who knows jack about it, it's a little too much to take in all at once.

Sorry; I didn't notice in the original post that it was a "kit." I thought it was just the stock.

Yeah, the sky is totally the limit!!! There's a LOT to take in. I've got a pretty deep history with black rifles. I was as confused about precision guns when I made my way to this forum.

So I've figured out what I think is all I need right here. 3 items in the cart. Larue Trigger, Luth MBA1 stock with buffer kit, and Warne 20 MOA extended skelotonized MSR mount. Bought a Magpul MOE-K2+ grip from the local shop today for $22 also. Got the Burris Fullfield E1 4-14x with LR MOA reticle yesterday for $140. So I should be all set here correct?

Nice! Those look like something you'd see out of a Sci fi movie haha.

It also ensures proper eye placement -- in fact, P.E.P.R. stands for "Proper Eye Position Ready" (although it's easier to just say PEPPER MOUNT). The PEPR Mount is a perfect AR or flattop mounting solution. Allows up to 2 inches of forward scope positioning. Provides optimum eye relief and full field of view. This is copied from the Burris website.

I tried the rings and they were a big no go for me. I’m more than satisfied with them
( P.E.P.R.) Don’t get in a hurry on getting your parts. Look around and see if you can find some of the parts on someone else’s rifle and see how they feel. Good Luck on your search, It’s another big Rabbit Hole.

I understand budget concerns but if you want to get the best performance from that Krieger barrel don't handicap it with other inferior components in the build. I'd buy once and cry once. I'd go with a Midwest Industries free floating hand guard, Magpul PRS rifle stock and a Jard set trigger. Also, regardless of what components you finally choose, without a good bipod/front rest & a good rear sandbag, you may never realize the true accuracy potential at 800yds.:)

From the look it, his handguards are mounted on a national match float tube so he's already free floated

IMHO, the downside to the current handguard is that a large portion of the barrel is "double insulated" from ambient air flow. The design is not conducive to barrel heat dissipation.

That is correct, it is a free floating tube. Bought the upper from a member here who shot this upper at camp perry. He's getting 2.5"-3" groups at 600 with it, and that's with a 4x scope and a 5.5# trigger I want to say for match regulations. I could be wrong though.

It will just be a bench and coyote rifle.

I'll figure a way to mount a bipod later on a quad rail. As of now, I'll just shoot off a front rest and rear bag from the bench, and shooting Stix in the field for dogs.

I got the LaRue trigger, Luth MBA1 stock, and Warne 20 MOA cantilever mount already on the way.

Going to go get some 73g ELDMs and 75g BTHP Match. I've got IMR4895/H4895/BENCHMARK/IMR8208XBR for powders.

I don't shoot rapid strings of fire, AR or not, it will be slow fired like my bolts. A shot every minute or two is all. No reason to heat my barrels and throat up for no good reason.

This thread makes me happy that I simply purchased a complete AR, that I can now hold in my hands, tinker with, and shoot. My learning curve took off like a rocket, and the 450 odd bucks I spent was well worth the education that I'm getting.

I've made a few modifications already with the help of som a y'all here, and in an economical way to boot. Member mmcu turned me on to an outfit called B King's, which has tons of stuff priced from dirt cheap on up. I got a twenty buck trigger from them, advertised to break at 3.5 lbs, -- and it does!

So I'm already reloading and shooting this thing, and have got loads grouping 1 MOA at a hundred -- as well as some that don't. ;)

Just got a thousand PMC 223's from BiMart which seem to shoot 2MOA, and will be my brass source for foreseeable future.

My first major project will be to simply build another upper around a better barrel. Until I got my hands on this rifle, I had no clue what that even entailed. Now I've got a rifle to shoot while I do it. jd
