Reloading Benches and Rooms Pictures

I'll kick the thread off. Over the years I've had a couple of different iterations but this is my current dedicated setup. Due to a lack of available space in the house i built a 10'x12's ish room in my shop for my habit. It has a mini split for heating a cooling along with a stand alone dehumidifier. Along with the bench i have a 54" toolbox for storing dies, spare parts, cleaning supplies etc. and my old safe the flooded in a previous home which i converted over to an ammo/spare mag cabinet since the wife was not happy with that taking up a large portion of our bedroom closet...

Storing ammo, primers and powder should NEVER BE STORED IN A SAFE! This is inviting an explosion if enough heat is ever introduced.

In a fire once something is hot enough in a container such as a safe, these items are MORE EXPLOSIVE, than in an uncontaminated space. In an uncontaminated space the just sizzle and pop.

Neat maybe, but an invitation for a more dangerous situation, unless keept open or unlocked. Just not how I would store explosives.

Nice and neat bench!

Agree, the door is never closed due to that purpose. Was just a useful purpose for the safe vs pitching it out. it had 4ft of water in it. i put a dehumidifier inside and let it run for several days and salvaged it. cannon replaced it under their lifetime guarantee and since they didn't have the same model they sent me a 48 gun 1 hour rated model.

Here is mine. We were about to build a new house but they got reduced to a shop building with living area in it, so I’m going to be here a few more years. Going to plan a small area in the shop contained to about 8 feet so I can load at the farm. I am thinking about a new bench top and some paint for this room.

A variation of the original NRMA plans. The boss said, if it's going to be in the house it shouldn't look like it belongs in the garage...

Oh you want to see it populated too? Well that costs extra
(kidding, here's an early usage pic before updating some gear and filling it out with what I have today)

That's heavy duty T-track (not normal) on 12" centers to provide leverage and standard 3/8" bolt heads fit it.
Usually only the press is mounted leaving the balance of the bench free.

I set up my measures and trimmer before I left for work the other day.
I haven’t loaded anything in over a year between selling our Virginia home and moving to Kentucky.
I had a 6’ bench in Virginia my new bench is 28’
More pictures to come as I progress on setting it up

That`s beautiful! NICE JOB!!! I wanted to build something very similar, but i cant screw two sticks together much less build something out of wood that nice. I`m terrible when it comes to working with wood, just ask my wife, lol. My wife also said the same to me.... it has to look nice, or it ALL goes in the garage, lol. Once the reloading room was done last month, i got the stamp of approval from my wife, lol.

I kind of cheated with my (14`x20`) reloading room. I bought 2 completed wood base cabinets from Home Depot, and a 8ft long counter top for my bench. Then outfitted the room with several steel locking (floor model) cabinets w/steel shelving to store everything in. I bought a couple craftsmen steel hanging wall cabinet`s for each end of the reloading bench. Above the bench between the cabinets, i installed pegboard to hold all my cleaning rods, teslong borescope, & all my tooling. I added a 5-1/2in wide x 4ft long wooden shelf below the pegboard for the beam scales to sit on, and other items to sit on. A 4ft long shop light above the bench. I also bought a craftsmen roller cab for extra storage that sets next to the reloading bench.

Oh I can't take credit for the build, I got a home woodworker to build it for me. I did the design changes but he did the build and a wonderful job at that.

An old hunting partner found those plans in the '90's and made copies for us all, then some years ago I was visiting and mentioned he finally built it. It was true to the plans and looked great. His old XL650 from the '90's looked right at home. When the youngest relit the flame in me for shooting a couple years back I thought it's time to build that bench but with a few minor changes.

that is very well organized. What is that turret press for in the lower left?

thanks, it's a redding t7 that i load my rifle rounds on. it is attached to an inline fabrication quick change mount. i have a dock screwed to the bench to store it out of the way when not in use. the 550 on the right is currently sitting on the inline fab mount.
