Francis Scott Key Bridge, Baltimore Md.

… And there is a time-synched graphic showing a course change toward the pylon starting a significant time, before power was actually lost. I’ll add that if you compress the entire ground level video track into a few seconds, it is difficult to watch, the arced path looks corrected and purposeful.

I am not saying it could not be intentional, I am saying that any and all news we have came from a media that can not be trusted. None of us has torn apart the computers and looked for malicious intrusion, none of us has interrogated the pilots, and captain, watched all the video feeds to see who was working on the boat while it was in port. We zero knowledge except what the news and government has issued to us. I don't see how an assumption can be made. I am saying our country is so screwed up that we will likely never know. We elect a president to a job that he has to fight tooth and nail to get, yet no one in his right mind would want the job of trying to please 330 million people. I can not see how a civil war has been avoided for so long, or how it will not happen soon.

Totally sums up so many posts in this thread
Maybe so.
On the other hand, there are quite a few members who know a lot about large structures such as bridges, and having worked on and around ships for years, do have a great deal of knowledge about their construction, motive power, steering systems, and how everything works in coordination to achieve safe and efficient operation

And those that actually knows and works on large ships see it for the accident it is. The other "experts" see nefarious motives.

The NTSSB posted the time line from the ships recorder, there was very little time and they did drop anchor. If you believe the evening reports ?

Oh I am right there with you Jackie. It's easy to figure out who is going off pure speculation/conspiracy vs those who have knowledge in what they are talking about.

I have learned quite a bit from that latter group in this thread. And that information has been very interesting and worthwhile.

A lot of speculation about this collision and what caused it. Fuel issues, human error, mechanical, or electrical failure, malicious intent.

There’s a root cause there somewhere. The beauty of the ship being dead in the water, is that it should make it easier to find it.

I remember the real experts insisting MH 370 had to have had a catastrophic failure without any time to take action. If it was terrorism some group would have claimed responsibility. But I guess in the end it was a catastrophic failure... the pilot.

I was a commissioning agent on the generator side steady for the last 14 years before retirement, been around them for 35 or so. I’ve had catastrophic failures occur on them with me in the same room, if not next to them. There is little warning when things break, even if you heard something and thought you might want to run, it’s too late. Operation and testing just became replacement and repair.
