I would not use Fedex to ship anything.

If you are going to ship something I would not use Fedex at all. I had to return a piece of equipment for warranty and the manufacture sent a pre paid Fedex return label and setup a pickup date.

They never showed up on the pickup date and after spending 2 hours on the phone they said their dispatcher rescheduled the pickup for another day. That day came and they never showed up again so I drove 40 miles to a fedex location and dropped it off.

The guy working scanned the barcode and gave me a receipt. It went out and I thought it was good. Well it turns out they put something on top the box which it clearly stated do not stack anything on top and it must have rubbed the barcode so they could not scan it. The address was fine.

Well in their wisdom they put a new label on it and shipped it back to me today so now I have to start all over. So I called them and just spent another hour on the phone.

I said I delivered in the 90's with no GPS or tablet and if you can see the address you can't deliver it Or call me since my phone number is on the shipping label? I would avoid at all costs.
 
I don't think there isn't a horror story about all of them. A LOT depends on the employee, just like any other business.... I will say the brown truck I have the best luck with. So much I have had my own account for years. They have become very competitive with USPS flat rate also. My preference goes UPS, USPS, Fed Ex...
 
I got a text notice that they had delivered a package to my house but but I was out front and nothing was delivered. I checked the tracking to see the photo and it is clearly not my porch as my house is white and the photo is not of a white house. I showed this to the shipper and luckily they refunded my $87, no idea if he got his money back.

I was standing in line behind a FedEx guy at the local Mcd today and it took him 20 minutes to make up his mind what to order. Lol- that tells you all a person needs to know about fedex. o_O

Had that happen also. Next time Im gonna say that the item is a class 3 issue and I have to notify the Feds !
 
Price isn't job 1...FedEx experience isn't as good as UPS. USPS has been ok. I check price between UPS and USPS. Ship according. USPS flat rate usually is a good choice.
 
I have a list of gun supplies/reloading vendors that ship UPS only. If I am shopping online at a new vendor and see that they ship by only FedEx not only will I not buy from that vendor I will also email them that I refuse to buy anything from them becuase they use FedEx as a shipper. It took a series of FedEx nonsense for me to get that fed up with them.

Its been my experience living a number of places that a persons local post office can make a big difference. My current post office generally does a great job and most of my mail goes through in good order however ive had some in the past that almost nothing got through for at least a month. i think with all the shippers the service varies. Our local UPS has been good also.

fed ex SUCKS....
Had to say it. More trouble overall with them than all others Combined... I too will only use as a last resort.

For the first time since I started my business I have a good delivery person for UPS, FED EX, and USPS. The gods must be smiling as this is a first for me! Usually it's 1 out of 3 or possibly 2 out of 3. I need to get a lottery ticket. Lol
