I am on the older side and I do 90% of my internet stuff on a computer. Younger folks do 90% on their phones. I can't stand using a phone for my internet usage.
I may have to start using as a timer, good idea!I'm 68, but use a HP 15" laptop daily, larger or "normal" keyboard is mo better for me, keeps a few of the bad words aways but not all. I have no desire to look/read forum threads on a smart phone. I have a smart phone cause the wife says I need one, but that's another argument for another day. It does make for a great food timer when I'm grilling a steak tho. LOL
No sush think as a smart phoneIn one respect, computers are a great way to research things you need to know about. But, in an even greater respect, they are poison - a tool used to shape the public's opinion on important items, a way to publish propaganda, manipulate our thought process. Smart phone replaces our memory causing it to be dulled. We can't do simple math problems because we are used to having a calculator at our finger tips. An electronic calendar means we don't have to remember important dates, it does that for us. There is research showing that children who spend lots of time in front of a screen develop behavior problems, and the incidences of teen suicide has been climbing. Computers give voice to idiots I don't even know and who spew their ignorance out for the world to gobble up. Like that mentally disturbed man bud lite chose to represent their product.
I personally know, for a fact, that if I avoid the news completely I physically feel better. This occurrence has been noticed by others I have talked to.
That’s how I like it. I’m not on any social media platforms and this is the only forum I’m a member of.Ditto, my laptop is pretty much dead and sits in the closet, I phone is my only connection with the outside world.
I can't understand what you typed. No sush think as a smart phone
well JD —-Ive got an iphone, ipad and windows 7 desk top. i would not want to be without any of them. I pad is a much better viewing experience than an iphone to me. i use it most of the time im on a computer at home. I would not want to have only phone access online. Ive decided to stop using apple products except for the iphone. As soon as this ipad dies the iphone will be it but i will get something to replace it. (ipad) I think some android tablet or small windows laptop but ill have something. this ipad is like the energizer bunny though. It just keeps on truckin. It may never croak. Sometimes if i want to list something for sale in classifieds here i will create the thread on my ipad or desktop at my house and go to my shop(3/4 mile) take a few pics of item with iphone then logon here on iphone and edit the thread i created to load the pics i just took to the thread created before. Thats Handy to be able to do. i dont like typing on the phoneSo my old MacBook Pro was a cast-off that my wife gave me. It's ten years old, and the battery is finally toast. I made a few calls, and found that to have the battery replaced would be not only expensive, but - well, stupid. Soooo, I let them sell me a '2019' MacBook Air, which is very close to the same function and features that my old one had.
This new computer seems to have the same problems that the other one had, making me sound even dumber than I actually am. I'm also sorry to find that my typing skills suck as badly with this one as they did with the last. I'd like to ask up front that I not be held responsible for many of the things that might spew forth from this thing.
This whole deal got me to wondering just how many of our members here use only a phone to access the forum, and -- I guess everything else in the cyber world. It seems that many people no longer use or even own a computer these days. I've also got a new I-Phone recently, and am pretty proficient with it, but it just doesn't seem handy for here on the forum. And yeah, I'm almost old. jd
Have you tried the IOS Numbers app on your iPad?I pad here only use laptop for Excel to keep records of shooting stuff
You’re right on about the wackos pushing their wacky ideas! There’s this “extremist group” I was reading about that says I need to weigh my primers! In one respect, computers are a great way to research things you need to know about.
