Powder price increase

After reading these posts, I just pour myself a double bourbon - no ice, then turned on the CD player and I am going to listen to the Ecstasy of Gold from the movie The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Cheers my fellow brothers in the shooting sports fraternity. ;)
I like the eaglis

As is normal the poor working class stiff is being pushed out of participation. I’m glad that this working class stiff stocked up when he did(tail end of Obama’s regime, and during the great Trump years before the Covid debacle)because I would be saying “uncle” right now.
I wish I had much more. I had been pretty well stocked up learning from previous shortages and let my guard down during Trump term purposely letting stock run lower so I could replenish. Had just figured things were going to be fine the next two years of Trumps term but covid unexpectedly hit.

I like Campers style also. I will continue to stock up on supplies as needed. Money isn't an issue as everything I buy I divide by 3 which really makes things look reasonably priced.

Of course I am using the 3 kid's inheritance.
See, I like your way of thinking. I certainly stocked up but if I need (ok want) something I just get it. Life is too short.

I shoot a Diana54 in .22 a lot, it is a magnum Springer, supposedly hard on scopes. I have a Sightron STac 5x20 on it mounted in Burris Zee rings. The inserts absorb a lot of the vibration from the spring. The vibration from the spring is the scope killer, not the recoil. I rebuilt my TX200 last week after 15,000 shots. The spring in it compared to the spring in the Diana 54 is like seeing a .223 round beside a 300 Win Mag. At 25 yards the groups that make you smile are 5 shots in a hole, in the hole, inside a notebook paper reinforcement ring. With a PCP no learning curve as far as shooting the shot. You need air bottles, a souce for air or an expensive compressor. No electricity, no air. Out to 50 yards they are no more accurate than a Springer, some not as accurate. Top of the line Springer 600 to 750.00. Top line PCP 1800.00 to 6000.00 +. Big thing for me, the rifle and s tin of pellets is all I need.
thanks for that info—. i learned a little more

Do you think the gas " shortages" in the 70's were manipulated?
Seems some of you needed to be in on the conversation I had with a ARAMCO company man about that when I was in Saudi Arabia then you might understand whats going on with the powder and primers.
What does OPEC do?
What happens evertime a camel farts over there?
Or a shot is fired?
A tanker gets attacked?

When powder got scarce in the o bummer era, I tended to buy powders that would likely work fine. They did; and it opened up more choices. Cheaper choices.

A friend of mine sent me a pic of CFE pistol for $54 and change, plus tax. He even made the comment that he hadn’t bought powder in awhile and had no idea. He probably should have stocked up when I had sent him links for that powder at the mid to upper $30s and low $40s.

Well, no reloading, very little cleaning. .05 per shot max with good pellets. At 25 yards no conditions ONCE you learn you can shoot groups in the zeros. At 50 yards outdoors with little or no wind you can shoot in th 1s or 2s.. They will teach you bench manners like nothing else.
No pictures?, it didn't happen.

This reply always pisses me off. But I will humor you with what I have . First target is indoor 25 yard testing pellets. Black center target is the first3 shots my wife, who is not a shooter, shot with my Diana 54 outdoors at 50 yards. Deer target is the target we shoot at 400 yrs at Anderdon Creek Deer matches. The little black marks are 5 pellets I shot at 100 yrs, all in the heart. The tape is holes from my shots at a 400 yd match.Enjoy.
