IMR Enduron Powders Being Discontinued

I bought a lot of IMR4166 and can't get anthing near the accuracy of Varget in .308 WIN.
At the time I bought it, 4166 was more expensive than Varget. I recall reading that it was advertised as a comparable to Varget. I dont know any serious NRA/CMP competitive shooters that use IMR 4166 since it came out 10 years ago. The IMR 4166 kernals are large (crunchy) and the powder is faster than IMR4064. I also tried 4166 for other caliber and nothing better than the old tried and true line.

To spend all the money to develop and market a powder line only to drop it it doesnt make sense. This happens often with the Winchester line also. 780, 785 and others. It costs us money to develop loads also. 4166 shot amazing in several of my rifles with good speed and single digit es. I has since got rid of my Hodgdon powders and settled on one brand that is much more consistent and available. I wont buy another powder owned by the hodgdon or vista monopolies

If Hodgdon made the powder they sell it might be different, but they don't and are at the mercy of the suppliers.
The basics of the market need to be well understood. The major use of gunpowder is the military(ies) of the world for small arms and larger. We as rifle shooters represent a small market especially if the kind type, etc of powders used are considered. We are not ignored, however and there are companies who specialize in the shooting sports.

If Hodgdon can’t sell enuf ADI will drop it which it has.

ADI didnt make the Enduron line, the General Dynamics IMR plant in Canada made it. ADI makes the extreme line. Did they drop the extreme line? I seriously doubt it.
was a general comment re the ADI/Hodgdon I'm most familiar with.
