Lapua 300 WSM Brass

I can understand the sinus troubles myself although mine isn't that bad luckily. I had a guy that wanted just the gun and none of the brass/dies but he has not pulled the trigger on the deal as of yet. If i don't sell the rig pretty soon i'll be taking it down and using it to hunt this season. Components alone add up to what I'm asking for it and if it wasn't for my change in shooting habits I wouldn't even be selling. I can't hunt the property I used to hunt anymore and I'm down to a property with much shorter ranges of shots. Plus my love for ARs has taken a big chunk out of my bolt gun budget. I'll try to keep you in mind if I sell the gun alone.

The Norma brass for the 300WSM is really good and consistent, The only problem is availability and price. The price has gone up from 55 cents in 2008 to close to 2 dollars a piece now. It is really hard to find. I talked to the Lapua Rep. at the group Nationals at Weikert and told him you can't get Norma 300 WSM brass anywhere in the last 2 years and how many people are shooting that case. He said he would talk to them about it. Matt Kline

I know that if lapua could keep the price per a case at a dollar plus or minus 15 cents I would get a thousand without a second thought. even if I don't use it all and I doubt I would it would be a worthwhile investment. Plus I am growing tired of my rimmed cases on the 300winmag. Plus I would have to take a picture of the kitchen table with a thousand pieces of perfect brass in formation just for the giggle factor. To bad they stopped making the winmag brass though it could have made for an interesting project. I might just hold off on chambering my pac-nor barrel I had planned on chambering in .300winmag based on the responses by mr kevin above. That and if lapua ever releases some of that .50 BMG brass that will have to move to the top of the lists for projects. Heck there are two weak points in 50 call benchrest keeping me from diving in and that is brass and primers. I'll start up if I can get my hands on some of that lapua 50 brass. I wish I could get some headstamp info as the men I work with could very easily mail me some if they know what to look for. I know its out there but its like when your a kid and they tell you to go snipe hunting in the woods at night. They exist but as far as I was concerned they might as well not have.

Sorry for that mix up but I was rambling and wasn't focused on being clear. I meant my 300 winchester magnum brass. I am a fan but I am getting tired of dealing with the rim. I am trying to move slowly away from rimmed brass to avoid having to use that odd sizing die that does just the base and rim. I can't remember the website for them though. Not even 25 yet and have the worst case of CRS disease in the south. I think the back and forth from negatives to triple digit temps has fried what little brain god gave me.

::) ;D I like to travel to far away excrement holes. To play with the people that call it home. No I just like getting paid to play with really big automatic weapons. Although North Dakota is looking real nice this time of economy so I might go there next year. After that I want to do a few years in Africa to knock out some safari that I would otherwise never be able to afford and then on to South America for at least a year. After that I just have Antarctica and Australia to visit and I will have what I think is my hardest item on my bucket list crossed off. I want to step foot on every continent at least once before I die. I got the dangerous ones done so far, Europe and Asia.

Still want that lapua brass. Thought I would post that to say that I stayed on topic. No really make some brass.

I would really like to see Lapua start making 300 WSM brass. I have contacted them and let them know. If anyone else feels the same it would be good to let Lapua know. It's getting very ridiculous at the prices on Norma 300 WSM brass. I hope I'm not alone on this.

And it only took Lapua 12 years, 5 months, and 1 day from the time of the OP to make it happen. LOL

I am [slightly] tempted to wish that Lapua would start making .308 Win Palma/SRP brass again, but I don't have 12 years, 5 months, and 1 day to wait, and I already switched to using Alpha Munitions .308 Win SRP brass, anyhow.

They are going to resume making .308 Palma brass this year as well.

I hope they bring back 221 Fireball and 222 brass. I have projects I want that brass for. 220 russian too, although I have faith that will show up well before the other two. I know a lot of folks have been pulling for 300 WSM, so this is great news for them, but I want the small stuff to show up on the shelves.
