Wayne LaPierre Resigns

Saw this on another site, apparently the former 2nd in command at NRA (Joshua Powell) has agreed to testify against the NRA in the trial:

The article linked is an interesting read, the author states, as their opinion, that the outcome of the trial will likely be that the accused (the leaders of the NRA) are found guilty, assigned damages they own the organization and a special master appointed to run the organization and rebuild the leadership.

If this happens it might be the clean sweep / drain of the swamp needed to remove the WLP cronies. Hopefully the membership will get to have a say in the new structure and have a voice in who gets to lead the organization going forward.

Interesting. I would think the defense could argue that the NY AG bought his testimony for the amount he could have been liable for minus the 100k, no small sum I bet. Will this discredit him enough to matter?

That member is me - when the helll is common sense going to return. I don’t expect to change your mind. I’m from a gun loving state, county and city where everyone has a gun and when someone has a family member shot and killed for no reason, guess what we say - it sure isn‘t suggesting if that dead family member was a better shot, or had a better gun he wouldn’t have been killed. That argument works on bumper stickers, but all it does is chip away at gun owners as a group in the mind of those in the middle - those on the far opposite side will never agree with gun ownership. Making statements that only work in an echo chamber is a sure fire way to fail.
Respectfully, there is zero need for any new law that restricts or diminishes 2A, directly or indirectly.

Wayne is clearly unwelcome with good reason, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the NRA and organizations like it are becoming obsolete. Social media is killing the need for lobbyists on simple social issues with mass appeal.

Regardless of the corruption that is still certainly rooted in the NRA (it's not like Wayne was the only one - that's just naive), I'm just not sure they matter anymore.
