Ammo Question/Tuner Question

did a test with Lapua CX this afternoon, perfect test weather zero wind. This time I started lower and went up in 2 click increments. Afterwards, I did 10 shots at 378 then 388. A bit too much horizontal at 378. For reference, the circles are 7/16 OD. At 388 I ended up with a CEP of 95% @ .243

Me either, especially with "perfect conditions".
Could be the ammo but I don't think so. He said perfect conditions so I believe him but it looks a lot like wind or something changing, to me. Nothing in that test appears to show the top side of the bbl swing. It's about half of the test. My test is 15 five shot groups, moving MY tuner two marks at a time. His previous test looked to me like he should move in 3 mark intervals with his gun/tuner. So I'm confused as to why he did this, this way after our discussion here. Not telling anybody what to do what tryining to explain what I look for and why. To see those things requires the test to be done a specific way and for enough groups to cover a full nodal cycle. I can help more with my test than I can by someone else's, fired in some other fashion. Sorry Jim but that's simply not my test. Still happy to try to help buddy but every single group of my test tells me something and is needed. Sometimes, a couple more groups, particularly so if your test starts out at a setting that appears to be in or nearly in tune. It's much simpler than this sounds but it's hard to type every little detail on a forum. Two things...that's why my test is 15 groups and why I do all this by phone...But I'm trying to do my part here, even with a different tuner. All I ask is the test be my EXACT test...zero deviations. Every single thing matters. I think with your tuner, I'd fire 15 five shot groups, starting at 365ish, and move it 3 marks at a time with your tuner/rifle...based on what I've seen so far.

We call this kind of shooting "wallowing". Yes you shoot a decent score but you have a very low X count.
It has an up and to the right diagonal shape too. That's a pretty tell tail sign to me, along with poi. Pretty far off, imho. Eith that, the ammo doesn't shoot in that bbl or something is moving...maybe wind but he said conditions were perfect. It's so predictable that I've found bad bedding over the phone based on my test targets. Not saying that's what's up here but more to haow predictable the shapes are.

@gunsandgunsmithing

interesting, next half decent day we get I will do the 5 shot 15 group test

that's exactly what I normally do on my typical score, decent scores, low X counts, plugged 50's

no wind at all today, aluminum bed in the rifle. Action screw torques maybe ?

I'm really just being brutally honest and no intentions to seem rude in the least. Give me a call tomorrow and lets make sure we get on the same page before you waste any more time or ammo. You know I'm always happy to talk tuners! Lol! I mean that!
