could just be the loose nut behind the trigger too LOL, seriously I found myself bumping the windage adjustment on the rear rest with my chest today, from now on I have to make a conscious effort not to do that as well as concentrating on follow through when squeezing the trigger with my left handThis is why rimfire BR is so frustrating. The 388 group in the tuner testing is as good as you will ever get. Then with the tuner set at 388 you shoot 10 shots and there are only two that can be combined into a 2 shot group that is as good as the 5 shot group.
Maybe on torque but the aluminum block...I'l just say that I've messed with a few and they never shot great. Good but not great. I have seen improvement by dampening them. They are almost always better after good bedding work, too. Most only touch in a couple or maybe three places...Just not ideal.@gunsandgunsmithing
interesting, next half decent day we get I will do the 5 shot 15 group test
that's exactly what I normally do on my typical score, decent scores, low X counts, plugged 50's
no wind at all today, aluminum bed in the rifle. Action screw torques maybe ?
I can usually pick that up by looking at targets. I don't think this is on you unless there were light conditions you weren't seeing. Flags or not?could just be the loose nut behind the trigger too LOL
since it was a windless overcast day I only had 1 flag out at the 25. Never saw the tail move until the very end which was about when I had finished with the tuner and shot the target. Even then the tails just wiggled a little. As I said earlier the "wallowing" as VLNBYR called it is about the norm for my targets, even in factory class. I have to wonder if it is not something in my setup or technique that is causing the shots to be off just a smidgen when shooting for score that does not show in group shootingI can usually pick that up by looking at targets. Oh well you can't win them all.#134. You’re dead to me sport.

yeah my wife is always saying I am a mental case lol.Mental?
Jim, did you use the center of the target as POA? I know 388 looks really good but as you seen anything low and left will not be repeatable. 372 is the only promising setting since it is at least centered and at the horizontal line. you want settings at or above the horizontal plane. anything below will not repeat.did a test with Lapua CX this afternoon, perfect test weather zero wind. This time I started lower and went up in 2 click increments. Afterwards, I did 10 shots at 378 then 388. A bit too much horizontal at 378. For reference, the circles are 7/16 OD. At 388 I ended up with a CEP of 95% @ .243

That and a shooter who knows what he is doing. great shooting! This is what you can do when you get your rifle right, good ammo, and some good conditions. Outdoors ARA at the Chiefs range Dec.2.

yeah I was using the center trying to get that sine wave effectJim, did you use the center of the target as POA? Put a few clicks in the scope so the poa in'st muddied up.yeah I was using the center trying to get that sine wave effect
Jim, here is an example of what I look for. you will note a 10-click adjustment spread and the groups look similar but only one is what I am after. as noted, this is a factory barreled and stocked 1413. it will be 5-years since I tuned this rifle, and it remains at 90.yeah I was using the center trying to get that sine wave effect
