JEEP Vehicles in Winter

Jeep is and always has been the vehicle of every season. I am on jeep #8 and looking at #9, not because this ones worn out, it only has 207.700 miles on it and still runs strong. I live in the mountains and at least half of those miles are offroad.

As for who owns what, maybe you ought to look around and see what your driving and where the parts that made it came from. We could also start on where our firearms or ammo or anything else comes from anymore that we use.

Gee, I owned Jeeps in the 70's and early 80's. They did work pretty well in the snow. I recently thought about getting a modern Jeep that looks like the old CJ-5 or CJ-7. But they want over $50k for a new one. I'll stick with my Subaru Outback.
I had a '76 CJ-5, I think it was $6,995 out the door.
Every day I drove it off road I spent a day or two wrenching on it. Good buggy for what I used it for........ long before ATV's were around. I did a fair bit of long line damage control trapping in those days. My '71 TNT and dual track did most of the heavy lifting, but I have chained up all 4 on the jeep and rescued my snow machines plenty of times. I wonder if any of the newer 4WD vehicles could hold up to steady hard use? I still have a relic from when I retired the jeep, it is a '72 FJ-40.... still tough as nails and runs strong.

I’m on my 7th Jeep, my wife enjoys them too. I always lift them 4 inches, 35” tires, drop the gears, add some auxiliary lighting, a winch and a few other aesthetics. This one gets used, it’s been all over a Nevada and Colorado, definitely not a Mall Crawler. Drives me crazy when I go through the phoenix area and see so many nice jeeps that will never see dirt, dust, snow or mud. To each their own…. Next Jeep will definitely be a 392, I’ve toyed with swapping out the engine for a V8 the last few years, now I can just buy one from the factory. Hopefully the price calms down after a couple years, crazy right now.

They have been for a few years now. They just had to pay someone for that title.
They ride like those hobby horses in front of the grocery stores years ago.
Yugo could have been that if they started that campaign years ago. LOL

I had a 2012 4 door Wrangler. 1.5 inch lift with all new linkages and a slightly larger than stock all terrain. It was the best vehicle I ever owned for driving around town, and having fun in every season. It did suck on the highway, as in, even with new ball joints, etc it felt dangerous hitting a small pothole at 75mph.

It's a true utility vehicle.

I'd like to get another one, but they seem to be predominantly owned by plus-size lesbians who have 427 ducks on the dashboard.

I had a 1974 Dj5 a2 wheel drive postal vehicle. Took out the 6 cyl. And put a hot 302 ford with a fmx automatic. It was amazing with the limited slip rear end. I used it to push start sprint cars at 2or3 local race tracks.

Have a 2002 wrangler X. You would freeze to death in it in a state north of the red river. Any speed over 60 is 50/50 you get home alive. No anti lock brakes. A motorcycle pulled out in front of me, I hit the brakes and went across the oncoming lane, thru a ditch and stopped 2 ft from a wrought iron fence. Would never let a young driver have an older model keep.
Worst hunting vehicle ever made. By that I mean “hunting” not driving to a hunting spot. Getting a gun out the window is impossible except maybe a derringer.
But I still love it and won’t sell it.
