F Class rule changes?!?

This is my first real year shooting F-Class and have hear from a credible source that there may some rule changes coming about. The two biggest one that caught my eye were outlawing the BTX dual eye piece spotting scope from Swarovski and the outlawing of Serbs Neo X delrin sides.

The explanation I got was that the BTX eye piece is expensive and not affordable to everyone. It creates a "disadvantage". Has anyone heard about this??

I can understand keeping the playing field somewhat equal in certain classes, but OPEN in my opinion should be "open" and there will never be equality as some people but their hard earned pennies in bullet making, some in March Majesta scopes, and some in 2-3 different back up rifles to shoot team and individuals with. Anyways I'm not trying to stir crap up just wondering if this may be true and I this is common in F Class.

On the eyepiece, that would be like telling everyone they have to shoot a Savage, because it’s not fair.

FWIW - a top-of-the-line Kowa TSN-99A spotting scope is also not in every F-Class shooter's budget, but it should not be within the NRA's purview to tell competitors exactly how expensive their spotting scope [equipment] should be. Thankfully, it seems as though the NRA putting the kibosh on a Swaro dual eyepiece spotting scope for F-Class is merely a rumor at this point. Nonetheless, I know of one example where the NRA has at least considered doing this sort of thing in the past. They should leave the decisions about the cost of equipment up to the shooters, period.

^Ned, I read the second follow up comment to mean that the “cost” of the Swaro wasn’t discussed, and equipment cost isn’t a factor in rules.

I got to use that bad boy this month to score from, in a swap with my fluorite lensed Kowo, because, in an abundance of caution I believe, there was some thought that it might be scrutinized, and probably a reason existed to have had that thought, and so I think the rumor of a ban probably has some legs.

I personally think a premium option on the line here and there potentially helps equalize things like some shooters having perennial access to all the components they need.

Lots of pictures of mini-x and neo-x front rests with the delrin sides at nationals. How are they illegal if you use sandbag that is sold with the set?
Like I said, I’m not trying to stir shit up but I did see pictures of Delrin sides, but I guess if you’re not winning people don’t care. The second you do, second place will want to bring that rule up.

As far as the BTX I sure hope is a rumor cause I use one and it’s a game changer.

Mount that magnificent optic - and it truly is - to a custom alloy bridge incorporated onto your front rest that arches over your rifle. Instead of a big scope on your rifle, attach a little glass screen etched with a crosshair to a rig similar to HP rear iron sights that’s visible through the optic - think IR, Charlie Tarac - etc. optic behind optic - the idea isn’t new, expert LEGO set skill and tweaking necessary, I’m sure.

Presto, you have the benefit of something like a 14 pound, dual eye mega-scope that is not attached to the rifle, doesn’t recoil, and so doesn’t count toward weight. Click your crosshairs close enough to just hold off, and carry on. Not so pricey after all if one big scope is all you ever need :).
