FedEx Again!

With FedEx you get what you pay for as FedEx drivers get paid by the package and not by the hour so that’s why them dump and run .

The FedEx gal delivered some primers to my house yesterday. I guess I should be happy that they got here. I had checked the signature required box. I hear the truck, get up and look out of the window just in time to see my package come sailing out of the window about 8 yards to my cement carport. Before I get down there she’s gone. Now I do have an 11 year old dog that will announce if someone is outside but the lady and I have discussed the dog many times. She wouldn’t hurt a soul. The gal has actually petted the dog on occasion. I found out shortly after a neighbor has her on camera flinging one of their packages as well.
I’m putting a camera up this week. I don’t know WTH is wrong with these people. It’s ridiculous. I know there must be good Fed Ex drivers out there but I sure can’t seem to find one. I’d swear them off again but I really want to get some good video first. Not that I have one bit of confidence in the fact that video and a call to FedEx would change anything. It’s just a sorry outfit.
My UPS guy on the other hand hand delivers my thermal scope upstairs. Gets his signature then gives me his number so I can send him some video and update him on the scope. Very nice well mannered young man.
Some good some not so much, Fed Ex drivers don't actually work for Fed Ex, they work for the contractor of the route. I normally won't learn their name until they've been here a couple months. That's how high the turn over rate is. Our Fed Ex guy now is super good, he is an exception and probably will find a better job. UPS people normally will be on the same route until a better one opens up and they have a chance on bidding on it.

Many of your comments espcially about Fedex show the challenges l am convinced are related to company culture. I worked for a company taken over by the bean counters etc just before I retired. We had culture before the bean counter take over that you made each customer yours and any problem they had was top priority to get fixed. That culture worked....

I’ve passed on super good deals online because the only form of shipping was fedex. You’re lucky though. If a signature is required In my area, your SOL, cause they won’t even stop.

I chased a FedEx truck on foot for about 400 yards until he stopped. Told him he had a package of mine. He said he couldnt find it. Told him I needed the number of his supervisor. He paused and went back to look, sure enough he came up front with my primers.

I too suspect videos may be the solution. The video sent to 1. the sender to show how their products are being treated by their delivery service, 2. sent to the delivery service's Supervisor or customer service department , and telling them that the video is being placed on social media., 3. the video placed on social media.

There's no reason for mistreating shipments entrusted to them for safe delivery.

No excuse for tossing the packages, but you say your dog barks at people but wouldn't hurt a fly. I for one wouldn't want to be the first to not be classified as a fly.

There are slather asses in every walk of life. Whether you’re making minimum wage or $1000 an hour.
Edit……
Just had a package delivered today by FedEx. First time any of the delivery networks out there have sent me a picture of the package that was delivered. They had the exact time of delivery sent to my email, and I asked for it to be set on the back porch which they did. Hopefully it is still there when I get home! I live out in the country so it should be.View attachment 1418044
All my delivery pictures are of a cement walk..... no package.....

Well that's something.

I wait all day for packages from Fed Ex and they don't come. Well, that isn't exactly always true. Sometimes they leave them on the porch, but fail to rig the bell or knock on the door. Sucks when you order stuff you don't want to get wet.
So now I check the porch as soon as the weather station on the table says it is going to rain.
65% of the time the weather station has notified me of a delivery.

I am just happy if it makes it to me in on piece in a timely manner!

I live in a house not an apartment or anything like that. I never check the require adult signiture because I never know if anyone will be home when they deliver.

I do wish they would all take pictures like Amazon does!

I have gotten packages many times where there was not a single flat or square surface on the boc and the inprint of what ever was inside was all over the box. A USPS box that had been beaten up tot he point that the carboard was now as soft as Puff's Lotion Plus facial tissue or that soft peached cotton shirt your wife owns! A rifle barrel where the box it was in was torn in half and some blind monkey missing all of it's fingers had attempted to tape the box back together again only for it to fail again!

All of them are equally bad the USPS, FEDX, UPS etc..... USPS is the slowest but I they have in the last 10 years had the best track record of me getting my stuff. Amazon is the best especially when they are the ones that have it on hand and their drivers deliver it not the USPS.

If Amazon carried the same stuff as Brownells ar a better price point or the same price point they would put Brownells out of business with their crazy fast shipping!

I have order Jet Oil and had it in less than 12 hours fromt he time of ordering at my door! Not Mobil-1 0W40 but Mobil Jet Oil II or 253. There price is now 2 hi on both of them but you get my point!

Yes sorry, I blame the employer. Accountability starts and stops there.

AND, don’t forget to give credit to the “time out” piss poor parenting along with Educational system being hamstrung by Karen’s and the others who have so many rights….. BUT no responsibilities! (I got more than one lesson at the end of my Dads belt but that has a tendency to make you a quick learner)

My Fed-up X driver decided to drop my AMP Annealer from waist-high, down to the concrete outside my door. Even with "Fragile" packing tape all over the box. Pride in service barely exists anymore.
That happens when the performance of employees is totally focused on numbers of packages delivered per hour/day whatever and all focus of management ignores those who ship and or receive packages.... We cannot measure that so it is to be ignored and focus us on criteria we can quantify. Been through that seen the havoc it caused on customers and employees

Well, I guess video evidence and continuous damage claims are the answer then.

The shareholders value minimum cost and maximum deliveries. Unless the package is gone/stolen they don't care, its cost of business. Until the company values other metrics in their "NPS" analytics, that won't ever change.

There is a reason people at these outfits pee in bottles or die from heat stroke.
Company has other priorities, and its not you or me.

I've worked in mental health with quite a few folks who have for lack of a better term monitored jobs that are metrics/NPS driven. Sounds like quite the hellish existence to have a computer constantly tell you how you're doing X wrong, and Y more wrong and you're fired.

Wish I could choose a carrier that values something other than that, guess that's why I go out of my way to buy local.
