FedEx Again!

The FedEx gal delivered some primers to my house yesterday. I guess I should be happy that they got here. I had checked the signature required box. I hear the truck, get up and look out of the window just in time to see my package come sailing out of the window about 8 yards to my cement carport. Before I get down there she’s gone. Now I do have an 11 year old dog that will announce if someone is outside but the lady and I have discussed the dog many times. She wouldn’t hurt a soul. The gal has actually petted the dog on occasion. I found out shortly after a neighbor has her on camera flinging one of their packages as well.
I’m putting a camera up this week. I don’t know WTH is wrong with these people. It’s ridiculous. I know there must be good Fed Ex drivers out there but I sure can’t seem to find one. I’d swear them off again but I really want to get some good video first. Not that I have one bit of confidence in the fact that video and a call to FedEx would change anything. It’s just a sorry outfit.
My UPS guy on the other hand hand delivers my thermal scope upstairs. Gets his signature then gives me his number so I can send him some video and update him on the scope. Very nice well mannered young man.

My FedEx driver is awesome, he goes above and beyond, same with my UPS driver. We live off the beaten path and both of those guys call my cell if needed or will call my wife. They know where to put packages when we aren’t there and they are happy to do it. Might be the small rural town that makes a difference.

I watch some of the crazy things that happen when it comes to drivers, customers and thieves. Blows my mind at times. The thieves - super disappointing.

It seems that our younger generation 30 35 year olds and younger have turned into low life shit. They don't care about anything except what is important to them. Not all of them are like that.

IMO, it is a combination of things, parenting, society low expectation, employer low expectation and no consequences for their stupidity.

Our FedEx gal carries packages to the front porch and places them under cover from weather. Our UPS guy takes packages to the back porch and places them under cover.

USPS...I ordered some items I was really unsure of ordering and receiving through the mail the mail because of the expense of the items. But, the web site or the seller assured the safety and the package would come insured with signature required, MY signature. I should carefully inspect the package for tampering or damage and if there was any question at all I should not accept it because after I sign the insurance will no longer cover any discrepancy.

I stayed home the day of scheduled delivery. The mail truck came to the mailbox at the street and then drove away. So I went on line and checked the tracking. It said package delivered in mail box. And yup there it was in my mailbox. No problems but man, that's not how it's supposed to work.

There are slather asses in every walk of life. Whether you’re making minimum wage or $1000 an hour.
Edit……
Just had a package delivered today by FedEx. First time any of the delivery networks out there have sent me a picture of the package that was delivered. They had the exact time of delivery sent to my email, and I asked for it to be set on the back porch which they did. Hopefully it is still there when I get home! I live out in the country so it should be.455033FC-1E9C-4281-B752-DABBC2E16462.jpeg

The bad thing is if I hear anyone drive up I’m out there at the truck before they can turn around. I know they are on a tight schedule and want to do my part to help. I’ve talked to this gal several times. I’m Always very cordial and thankful and told her about my dog and the fact the dog is very friendly. She just lets me know when someone comes up and loves the attention from the drivers. I’ll have her on video soon, and won’t be the only one.
I wasn’t raised to work or “not work” like that. To do a sorry job or just enough to get by, Had I done that while growing up, there may have been a funeral at my house, mine. You’re representing a company that is paying you. Do the best you possibly can or better. But unfortunately this is a different generation And expectations and values have certainly changed. Calling FedEx about the issue doesn’t give much hope that anything will be done about it.

Before you blame the women, are you sure it was her and not a temp driver? Not sure if you actually seen the driver as you said the package flew out.
I had bad drivers and good myself, cameras work great as they record time/date for proof of bad service even if you don't get the view of delivery/driver person the company always can track to whom if they really cared enough.
I always have to check front door when I expect things as we come in the back. Had a package there for a week before I knew it. Learned my lesson, it was rained on two days. Good thing shipper wrapped stuff in plastic bag as the box was soaked throughout with puddles inside.

Yes I’m sure. She’s our regular deliverer. Saw her plain as day As she turned around. So did my wife. I do have all the shipment info anyway so they can track it but I doubt they will bother. We have had so many issues with FedEx that I simply have no s confidence in their abiliTy. Other folks already have footage of her doing the same thing. Sorry comes in all shapes, sizes, sexes, colors and genres these days unfortunately. My best option anymore is to either not buy or simply to pay more and use only UPS.

I know this sometimes won't work, have you/wife tried to cozy up to her? Like maybe offer a cold drink on hot day or a few good waves when you see her? I know it won't always work or matter as they are just wasted skin. I was a service tech and I always appreciated this. I did go extra steps on checking other things as long as I was there for those I knew appreciated my work, even a few friendly kind words helps everybody feel good. Yeah you will have some that are totally worthless as well but at least I feel I tried and know that's all I can do. Good Luck!

Not local delivery driver related but FedEx lost a set of running boards for my Silverado last week. How in hell can they misplace a package that big?

My wife went to Krogers The other day and she asked the young man checking her out how he was and he said oh I'm participating. She nearly hit the roof, She told him that's just the way life is you have to make a decision and do things yourself and it's more than participating! Our schools and universities have failed the younger generations.

We have also tried that approach. For ones that dont know me I’m the type that will give you the shirt off my back. Or buy the old ladies groceries at the grocery store. My whole family is that way. I’m a random acts of kindness guy. I like to see the reactions on folks faces when you go out of your way to be kind. Most times that kind of kindness goes a long way. I don’t expect anything for these acts. It just makes me feel better about myself. It doesnt seem to be helping in this instance. I figure if she’s doing it here, and been filmed doing it elsewhere, it’s probably developed into a habit unfortunately.

I call that “making 8”. Put in your 8 hours. Do the least you can to get by and expect $15/hr to do it.
