30br bullet options

So I am gathering parts for a 30br. I built a 6br last year, and then ran around for months looking for reloading components like an idiot. I want to avoid that with this build.

I am on a waitlist for barts 112s and BIB 118s

I posted in the want to buy section and was surprised at some of the responses.

From the sounds of it, the jackets are the problem. So while I wait. I'm just curious what other bullets people have had success with? I talked to hottenstein and he's 3 weeks out, so I might go that route. Any other suggestions? Barrel is going to be a a 1-17 twist, zero freebore.

Thanks fellas

I have heard Speer 125s will work. Maybe they were 110s. My memory sucks! Sorry!
125s in stock at “Precision Reloading”. I’ve never bought from them so be careful! Use the search thingy here for reviews and more good info.IMG_0145.jpegIMG_0144.jpegIMG_0147.pngIMG_0146.png

The 125 gr. TNT does well for a factory bullet. Jcline here on the site makes some great bullets. I think he is doing 112 118 and 125 gr. as well. My 700 BR 1 - 17 Tw. has shot my record group ( .010 ) so far with Bibs 118 gr. Danzac coated bullets with 34.2 gr. H-4198 @ .012 jam.

Great shooting! I'll look into jcline

Those 125’s from Speer will eventually leave you wanting for more IMO. Decent bullet. Won’t group for me like I want. I use them for fire forming.
Yea I agree JImmy. Good for blowing out brass and practice but probably won't win a match for you.

I've had them that shot as well as anything in the bbl I was using them in but I have a newish lot now that is just decent at best, in this bbl. I do like the price though and ime, they're worth trying if you can find them. Like you said too, if nothing else, their cheap and will be fine for fire forming no matter how they shoot in your bbl.

I'll have to check my inventory but if you get ready before you have bullets, I may be able to get you some good bullets. Probably 116 or 118gr Hillbilly bullets. They're excellent, I just have to look at what I have first.

The Ammerman bullets mentioned above may well be worth trying too. I've got some to test but I haven't shot any of them just yet.

Thanks alot. I appriciate it. I honestly had no idea that this many people where making custom, bullets.

You might try Jamie Eazor at Eazor Precision. He makes a 118 grain on 1" jackets that's quite good. I was on Randy's wait list one year and tried the Eazor's instead. They're about a 9 ogive vs. Robinette's 10 but I never saw a difference on target or scores over the year.

Yes, James makes a great bullet also.
