Why So many Golden Eagles and NF BR or Comp FS?

I seen a lot of them them on the PX. What scopes do long distance shooters prefer these days instead of these two? I was just curious. Thanks

After shooting the Night Force 15-55 Comp along side the Vortex
10-60 GE for about a year and a half in match's.....My Vortex will
be up for sale since I bought a March. The Night Force Comp was
clearly (pun intended) the one to keep. Both scopes were used from
100 to 1000 yards. With 5 less power, the NF resolved better in most
conditions......With 3 F-class shooters I know, one being a master and
another a high master, They are using the MarchX 10-60 High Master's.
Last I chatted with Robin Ardoin, he was using the MarchX in F-class.
I recently visited Euro Optics which is near Williamsport Pa. They claim to
be doing good business selling March scopes since the market opened
up. Your going to pay another grand for the MarchX but your getting
a larger 34mm tube, 56mm objective and the new super ED glass over
a 30mm tube, 52mm objective, and ED glass. They are heavy though so
may not work at all for light gun. I shoot 17lb and up, so no problem.

look up the past years major match's, and see if they have equipment
lists posted. Some do. Last one i looked at favored The Night Force
comp by a large margin over the Vortex.

I will venture to say there are a fair amount for sale because they are what is sold the most. They both fit Rat Rifles requirements. I have 3 GEs, they have remained totally repeatable and hold POI. Are they the best optically. No, but I see 6mm bullet holes most days at 500yds with them, 75 year old eyes. Not a fan of NF but optically they are good except for short eye box in Comp model. But overall are both acceptable scopes, in my opinion yes. Keep in mind, some change scopes more often then they change underwear.

The proper scope depends on what you are shooting at LR, and the ones discussed thus far are fine for paper targets which require high magnification. To me the GE was no good due to poor optical quality, while the NF Comp is one of several better options. For LR steel there is a completely different array of requirements, making these unsuitable.

Thank you all very much for taking the time correspond. I will check out March. Haven't been able to look thru one of them yet...
IME, any of the ed glass March scopes are very good optically and are very dependable. I'll take the dependable part over great optical clarity for br but you can have both for the right price. If you can only afford one or the other, go with dependability of the internals. The NF Comp is really hard to beat all around. I've yet to see a perfect manufacturer of just about anything so yes, you can get a bad scope from ANY of them but as long as the mfg rights it right on those rare occasions, then I'm good with it. We are quite demanding or perfection and it actually happens most of the time but not 100%.

Give a valdada a try. Ive switched to them as i can afford to
Which reticle did you go with on the big 10-60 ?? I did not see one
I would like. The MTR-2 on the March high master was what I had
been wanting for years. It was a fluke that I was told one was in stock.
Ransacked one account then drove to Euro Optic to pick it up. I like
the bracketed tiny dot of the MTR-2

Well had GE on F/Class LR Rifles .
No real Trouble with them .
Look Thru some NF and Sightron and bought four Stightrons .

My eyes told me what they liked !
I have a couple of sightrons and one NF Comp. I like the optical clarity of the NF better, but my eyes are pretty bad, and I think I need a larger objective, 56 or 60. I wish I was close to the Euro Optic store so I can look thru them all...
