I'm gonna get heat lamps and propane heaters ready along with a tractor and pto generator ready and hope I don't need it. I can stay warm in the shop and in the old house but if the electricity goes off, the water will freeze up at the well and possibly the house. Thankfully, no more cattle at the moment, though. I'd like to be a Florida snowbird but I just can't leave in the winter. I plan to build sometime soon too. Waiting for contractors to start looking for work. They've had it good for a few years but I think that's gonna come to a halt soon. I'll probably have to finance some of it but trying to pay as much out of pocket as I can stand. I've thought hard about what you're doing, living in a camper while I build as I'd like to build where my house sits now. But I'd like to be able to do as much as I can myself, which means I'll be in a camper longer than I want to be. Your post isn't very encouraging in that regard.

I'm still deciding which way to go. Might buy a used trailer but that has some of the same issues, just not as bad. Might build in a different spot too.
