A “quick bedding” tutorial

Heres what i mean when i say a quick locating bed. This puts the action in the correct spot for bottom metal location and such so when you really bed it you dont have to worry about that and not worry about the epoxy running into the floorplate

Then when i say scuff up the bedding for the next round heres what i mean. This gives room for new epoxy but still puts the action into the original spot

Older thread but bumping with a question. I’m getting ready to pillar bed a new manners stock to a Kelbly action with a Hawkins DBM. So when pillar bedding would you install the pillars so the bottom metal rests on them and leave a gap for bedding compound on top where the action is?
