ATF at local gun show today

ATFE isn't the enemy of every gunowner/business man in the US, just the dishonest ones. If they decide to harass somebody doing business out the trunk of his car without a FFL license I don't have a problem with that. Especially after I have been through the gauntlet to get my FFL and paid fees at a show to have a table to sell my goods and there's somebody selling out of his trunk having done neither. They're just stabbing the legitimate dealer in the back. I don't mind seeing BATFE agents at a show, out front, any more than I mine seeing police on the street.

I disagree with that assessment 100%. The ATF IS the enemy. Why?

1. They enforce unconstitutional law.
2. They enforce laws that do not exist but illegally creating regulations which Congress has not passed.
3. They consistency are inconsistent with their interpretation of the law and inconsistent with their very own regulatory decrees.
4. They harass gun owners without reasonable suspicion or warrants.
5. Their agents have intentionally entrapped honest Americans that had no intention of operating outside the law.
6. They are not a needed agency. FFLs should not be needed.

I can’t single out one section of the entire federal government that I think is there to help me in anything. Not one.
One could say the CDC or the NIH but that ship sailed forever with Covid. Now they’ll jump to monkey pox or polio.
Maybe the military but they helped me by providing free transportation to VietNam. Didn’t work out well for them or me. But there again it’s the leaders. Our current commander in chief……
The whole thing is a disgrace.
It could only be worse if James Carter came back.

I have to agree. I cannot find one single way our idiotic gov would help me in any shape or form. And it is without a doubt the so called commander in chief that has created the mess our country is in today. Hopefully in Nov. things will make a turn and even a better one in 2024.

They used to set up tables at the Tanner shows in Denver. But they would be in the middle of the tables. Same wearing Shirts and Jacket with ATF on them. They were the local agents and just as dumb when asked questions about rules! Maybe a ruling from higher up to play dumb!

This is a scary but true PSA , the ATF requested a table in the entrance area of a gun show today in Ft. Wayne, 5 agents in full ATF regalia met patrons as they entered our show.
So two questions.
I would think a table in the entrance might be the choice spot at your show. Is it?
Can you give me an explicit description of what the ATF’s full regalia is?

The ATF cannot make law. It can however make rules which are not subject to congressional approval. Under the law covering ATF, they can make enforceable rules that are de facto law.
Not so sure they can, especially with the latest SCOTUS ruling. However, they don't make regulation de facto...hell, if anything it would be post de facto.
