I'm still new to the .22 shooting scene, but have tested a wide variety of brands to date in the past 6 months or so. I've definitely found a large swing of variance, even between good match brands in my rifle. This will be the first X-Act that I've shot thru it.It might and it might not. The problem comes in designing and implementing your testing so that your results actually mean something, something almost no shooters ever do.
No shortcut, I plan to test just as I have all other brands to date. Just trying to see what others have found using itI know 50 or 100 ARA shooters who would switch today if there was a guarantee that X-ACT would give better results. You're looking for a shortcut that doesn't exist.
In reality price has a zero factor on it shooting. the rifle will shoot the ammo it likes. but just for the sake of your question say it shoots 1-hole not many full cases are available.I understand this, but just looking for the good bad and/or ugly experiences from those who have tested it against the other match ammo out there. They're certainly should be some difference with a price tag like X-ACT has compared to most other brands I would think?
As I mentioned earlier, I'm relatively new to any type of competition grade shooting, so forgive my ignorance for asking, but what is a "duce"?I have a short story about X-Act,...... When it first came out one of the guys that usually shot with us in New Richmond Wi bought a brick of it.
We were watching him shoot the second relay when he turned and said “I’ve never shot a Duce shooting X-Act, and I”be shot several boxes of it!!
Yup.....you guessed it the very next shot....the prettiest duce you’ve ever seen.....the laughter went on for about a minute......true story.
Top target is a Anschutz X action with factory barrel, has a Uptagrafft 15 inch bloop tube with tuner. It is in North American Anschutz BR stock and is not bedded. Action screws are at 35 inch pounds. Bottom target is Turbo V-2 in a Bill Pippin stock, bedded with a Broughton barrel with a J&L tuner. Ammo was Midas Plus that I had tested in the Anschutz in Ohio.As a rule good ammo shoots well in a variety of rifles. Gary
