Folding table with semi circle top. Easy to build. Less money. Fast set up.
Does that rotate?
That's about where I was circa 1978 in terms of primitive rat shooting equipment.
As for 'less money', how much do you have invested in your rifle collection? How much did you spend for that last PD or GS trip in fuel and related costs?
It's just another 'must-have' item most serious colony rodent shooters I'm acquainted with want or have used for years.

You can lay in a field holding your rifle up with a stick for free if you want to......

Anybody have plans to build ones of these??? Are a place to buy one?
I know that you know what you want. But let me offer a different idea. A friend of mine has a bench similar to the one in the link you posted. I've helped him carry it (takes 3 trips) and set it up (takes at least 15 minutes). He thinks it is the best thing since sliced bread. I wouldn't have it if he gave it to me.

But I've shot more prairie dogs in 1 day than he has in his entire life. When I use a bench, this is what I use.

I can break down an move in just over 1 minute. Pull a captive pin on the bench and stool they collapse. I put them in the rear floorboard and drive to the next location. I'm mobile and move as necessary to keep up the firing rate. Yes, I do rotate my bench often, but I would much rather do that, than be fixed in one location too long. So I just encourage you to have a bench that can be set up quickly. I also hunt by myself, so my style might not encourage the camaraderie others enjoy.

And more free advice (worth what you pay for it). My experience is setting up with the wind to your back as the daily bulletin suggested doesn't work for me. Maybe I'm lucky in that I hunt early in the day and avoid the worst of the wind. So my normal wind is 10mph once it starts. I will take a straight crosswind setup over wind at my back every time. I know for a 200 yard shot, 10mph wind, I hold 3 MOA into the wind. My hit percentage is as good as when there is no wind. When I setup with the wind behind me, taking only pure downwind shots is very limiting, and once you start rotating very little, your wind drift varies dramatically. Between the wind velocity, angle, and distance, for the shots I take my hit percent suffers. All you have to do is look at this chart to see why it complicates things.

If dancing all over the praire is your thing then a rotating bench is what will serve you best. You are an expert at shooting ground squirrels and have killed 1000’s and 1000’s. I say well done and applaud your sir. I simply posted a question. Having fun is what we’re all after. Being right, well we can all read.

Sorry, don't see a question, just negative feedback. Dancing?
Never claimed to be an expert at anything.
But we're agreed on one thing, in that having fun is what we're all after. I'll opine that when your PD or GS bench swivels or rotates, it adds a quantum degree of fun to the activity. Try it, you may like it.

Love it, I would add a shade umbrella we are burning up here. Cant wait till this heat wave is over.
I do have a golf umbrella for shade, made this holder so the umbrella post slides into it and use the handle button to lock it in place. Clamp it to tabletop w that vicegrip tool
Use it when wind is barely moving as it does grab wind and moves the tabletop.

CoyoteJakes.com Has the aluminum bench kits.

I have used a modified Caldwell stabile table for many years now, throw away the plastic top and find someone giving away an old broken solid wood kitchen table. I have one that is birch and another one that is cherry wood, plywood is ok but, I prefer the solid wood and they were free. the next mod is the bushing in the post to base fitting. I formed a piece of sheet metal to act as a shim in the upright. it takes up the slack and wobble, grease both side and spins like butter, I think the thrust bearing is a good idea. I might need to add that to mine. when sitting on top of the truck you can shoot more than 180 degrees until you encroach on your shooting buddy's ears.

Hope you are young and strong. Had to sell mine as the steel ones are 65 Pounds and not made to carry more than 5 feet from your vehicle. Be sure your on level ground or everything will slide off the table.

I have shot for many years on a BR Pivot. I shoot as long away as I can from the target and had to add a simple adjustable (sliding) leg that can be tightened to completely firm up the rear of the rifle. Also, the last thing you want attached to your bench is an umbrella! If you need one anchor it to the ground.

Yup, that 65 lbs issue is what prompted the development of the BRP Lite. It shaved almost 30 lbs off the assembly with the use of T6 alloy. When we sold the BRP, we stressed it was a "Vehicle Served" product, never intended for backpacking; there are other options for that.

There's 'rock-solid' and 'portable'. Take your pick....carry on.
