I worked the numbers backward through the Berger ballistic calculator. Their largest bullet less than 125 grain, with the highest BC is their 115 gr. 6mm. You would have to launch it at 4200 fps to arrive at 1000 at 2475 fps. There isn't anything that I'm aware of that could even come close to that velocity. That also doesn't take into consideration that the rpm of that bullet, at that velocity, would assure destruction before it made it 50 yards down range.

I don’t even get that speed at 600 yards with my high-BC-on-target loads. I have shot X’s over 2,400 fps at 600, but never at 2,500 fps. 1,000 seems undoable.
I think it could maybe be reached but “inaccurately” with a sabot from a 30 super case like a RUM or 30-378 Weatherby.

But why?
Curiousity question... how would one even measure velocity of a round at 1000 yards? See where the specific grain weight bullet hits the gound, then calc est. speed @1,000 yds, based on that info? Or see drop at 1,000 yards vs. say 300 yds, and calc est speed? Or send a guy down range to hold a chrony that you shoot thru?
This may be bad information or I might have bought into the hype, but this Ngsw rifle that the army is looking to adopt is supposed to be able to do that. My knee jerk reaction was bs but I thought maybe there was some kind of exotic crap going on that I hadn’t heard of.
I guess you can’t trust every random yahoo at work who claims to be a “gun guy.”

Use a ballistic app. If you was running a 50 bullet at 4000 FPS out of a 22-250 at the muzzle at 1000 yards your gonna be somewhere around 800-900 FPS. Some loading manuals have drop charts as well

Thr new Army round has a steel case head an runs at a much higher pressure than a brass case can handle. Maybe it can an maybe it can't. We should have some real data in the near future.
